In memory of the 73rd anniversary of War of Resistance against Japan’s victory and the 87th anniversary of the September 18th Incident, on September 18th, 2018, Shenyang “September? The August 1st History Museum and Jiaxing Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall jointly sponsored the “Photo Exhibition of the Historical Facts of the September 18th Incident, the Beginning of the Anti-Japanese War in World War II”, which was officially exhibited in the East Annex Building of Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall.
On the night of September 18th, 1931, the Japanese army blew itself up at the Liutiaohu section of Shenyang-Manchuria Railway, against what China’s army had done, and used this as an excuse to launch the September 18th Incident which shocked China and foreign countries. Centered on the September 18th Incident, this exhibition is composed of three parts: the historical background of the September 18th Incident, the launching of the September 18th Incident by Japan and the founding of the puppet Manchuria, and the uprising. Through a large number of historical precious photos and text introductions, it reproduces the historical picture of the outbreak of the September 18th Incident, the helplessness of the fall of Northeast China and the uprising of China people in the end, defying violence and uniting with the enemy.
The September 18th Incident was not only the beginning of a large-scale Japanese armed invasion of China, but also the first war ignited by fascist countries in the world. The remembrance of the past is the teacher of the future Now, although the smoke of war ignited by the September 18th Incident has dispersed, the scenes of tragedies caused by Japanese militarists are still vivid. This period of history should not be forgotten, but should always be remembered. This exhibition aims to make the masses understand history more comprehensively, face history squarely and remember history. Today, we look back on this history not to remember hatred, but to deeply reflect on the painful lessons brought by the war, learn from history, strive for self-improvement, cherish peace, face the future and create a better tomorrow.
