On March 30, the Huzhou Buddhist Association held the fourth enlarged meeting of the sixth session of its board of directors to mobilize the theme education of “Five religions go together and strive for a new era”. Bao Hong, Director of Huzhou Municipal Bureau of Citizen Religious Affairs, Shi Shengxiang, Director of the Second Division of Citizen Religious Affairs and other leaders attended the meeting.
Ciman, the president of Huzhou Buddhist Association, pointed out that to forge ahead in the new era, we should inherit the patriotic and religious feelings of our ancestors. During the War of Resistance Against Japan, the dauntless Buddha sentiments of the ancestors such as Master Taixu and Master Yuanying still have strong vitality and become the internal driving force for the majority of Buddhist monks to actively serve the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
To forge ahead in the new era, we should feel the Party’s gratitude, listen to the Party’s words and follow the Party from the perspective of the new changes in Zhejiang. First, we should stress politics and lay a solid ideological foundation for the new era; Second, we should attach importance to conduct and establish a good image of striving for a new era; Third, we should make contributions and demonstrate practical actions to forge ahead in the new era. Dharma Master Ciman also made specific arrangements on the activity carrier, implementation methods, organization and leadership of the theme education of “Five Cults Go Together, Strive for a New Era” and the construction of a demonstration site for the localization of Buddhism in China.
In his speech, Bao Hong pointed out that the spirit of the national provincial religious work conference and the eighth representative conference of the provincial Buddhist Association should be carried out to carry out the theme education of “five religions go together and strive for a new era”. First, further strengthen the self construction of the group. The team members should set an example to enhance their political judgment, political understanding and political execution, improve their ability to plan, work together and solve their own problems; Second, we should always adhere to the orientation of Chinese Buddhism. Third, we should constantly strengthen the construction of teaching style. We should strictly govern education in an all-round way and take precepts as our teachers. Our team members should implement the “Six Ones” work requirements. All monks should strictly abide by the Code of Conduct for Buddhist Teaching Staff, prevent greed for extravagance, and consciously resist the tendency of commercialization.
