“China is one of the four ancient civilizations in the world. Our ancestors have created a wealth of material, spiritual and institutional civilizations, which are worthy of our inheritance and promotion.” Wang Wei, deputy to the National People’s Congress and chairman of the Chinese Archaeological Society, said that he was very proud of the ancient Chinese civilization.
“However, many important archaeological discoveries and research results, as well as the rich and colorful traditional Chinese culture, still remain at the academic level. There is still a certain distance from home, and they have not played their due role in enhancing cultural confidence and national cohesion.” Wang Wei said regretfully.
Wang Wei said, “At present, many Chinese teenagers are obsessed with western culture. In the past decade, large amusement parks in the United States have prevailed in the Chinese market, which also represents the penetration of western culture, which worries people who love the excellent traditional Chinese culture.”
In order to change this situation and give full play to the advantages of China’s excellent traditional culture, Wang Wei proposed to build a theme park of Chinese civilization in the national central cities, further innovate the way of communication, let the cultural relics “live” and tell a good story of China.
“During the Fourteenth Five Year Plan period, it is recommended to choose cities with developed economies and convenient transportation to build theme parks of Chinese civilization, such as Zhengzhou. Theme parks can use AR, VR and other digital technologies to show the ancient Chinese myths and legends, the colorful clothing, food, housing, inventions and creations of the Chinese ancestors, the formation of regional civilizations, the representative scenes of each ancient dynasty, the brilliant achievements of Chinese civilization and human civilization Our contributions and exchanges with other civilizations will enable young people all over the country and the world to experience and spread the profound and brilliant Chinese civilization. ” Wang Wei said.
“The funds for the construction of theme parks can be jointly invested by large state-owned enterprises and cultural investment companies under the government. The land needed for the construction can be allocated by the local government, and a series of preferential policies will be given.” Wang Wei added.
Wang Wei introduced that from the southeast coast of China to Southeast Asia and many islands in the South Pacific, there are ethnic groups with similar languages and customs in prehistoric times, which are collectively referred to as the “South Island Language Group” by the international academic community. They are the only large ethnic group mainly distributed on islands in the world, with a population of about 270 million.
“Where do these people from the South Pacific islands come from?” Wang Wei said that since the autumn of 2011, the Archaeological Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences has carried out archaeological work in the coastal areas of Hainan, Fujian, Guangdong and Guangxi in cooperation with archaeological institutions, and has made remarkable achievements, revealing the archaeological cultural landscape and development sequence of this region from 6000 to 3000 years ago. At the same time, archaeological results show that there is a great degree of consistency between the prehistoric indigenous cultures of the island countries in the South Pacific and the southeast coast of China. These common or similar cultural factors first appeared in the southeast coastal areas of China, and then gradually spread radially outward. This series of archaeological discoveries and research results show that the southeast coast of China, including the southeast of Hainan Island, is most likely the “Nandao language family” and its cultural origin.
In order to further promote Hainan’s tourism development and give full play to the historical role of the “South Island Language Group” and its cultural origin, Wang Wei proposed to build a “South Island Language Group” cultural park in Sanya, Hainan, introducing indigenous art forms and handicrafts distributed in various island countries in the South Pacific, as well as ceremonies such as marriage, becoming a child, festivals, worship of gods, and performances of living customs such as food, clothing, housing and transportation, Build the cultural park into a display window of the traditional customs of the “South Island Language Group” island countries and Li people, so that visitors can experience the living customs and cultural connotation of residents in the vast area of the South Pacific in Sanya.
