The citizens are watching the exhibition of Pu Hua and his teachers and friends in Taizhou.
On November 28, the exhibition of Pu Hua and his Taizhou teachers and friends, jointly held by Taizhou Cultural Preservation Center and Linhai Museum, was held in the temporary exhibition hall on the first floor of Linhai Museum.
Pu Hua, a native of Jiaxing, was a famous calligrapher and painter in the late Qing Dynasty. Together with Xu Gu, Wu Changshuo and Ren Bonian, he was called the “Four Heroes of Shanghai Style”. He was clever since childhood. He studied painting and poetry. In 1865, Pu Hua came to Taizhou from Mingzhou (today’s Ningbo), visited Xinhe, Haimen and other places in Taiping (today’s Wenling), and made many good friends in Taizhou. Later, he often came to Taizhou to buy paintings, visit friends, return poems and wine, and left behind countless works.
A total of 70 works by Pu Hua and his Taizhou teachers and friends were exhibited this time. The exhibition is divided into seven units: “Splashing ink on the fairyland”, “Taishan poetry and wine for several years”, “Several rods of ink and bamboo connect the heaven and the earth”, “Ten miles of clear streams depict the rim of the river”, “Don’t be modest and can be like a valley”, “Dare to say that Gao Yi has a good fortune”, and “Wa Yan Tao Qin sleeps on a couch”, presenting the creative style of Pu Hua in various periods. For example, Pu Hua’s ink paintings were displayed in “Splashing Ink Fairy Beauty Upload”. He is good at ink painting, and his pen is clumsy, thick and flexible. He is free from formality, and his landscapes, ink bamboo and flowers are fresh, moist and unique.
A staff member of Linhai Museum introduced: “In the 1980s, Mr. Feng Zhibin, Mr. Zhang Zhisheng and Mr. Jiang Wenyun, the predecessors of Taizhou calligraphy and painting, jointly held a” Pu Hua in Taizhou ” Pu Hua’s works have been collected by three old people for more than half a century. Later, Mr. Wang Ji of Jiaojiang successively published monographs on Pu Hua’s research. Taizhou Calligraphy and Painting Academy also held a special exhibition on the 150th anniversary of Pu Hua’s arrival in Taizhou. “
It is reported that Linhai Museum also had exhibitions on Pu Hua’s works in its early stage, but it is difficult to display them in a systematic and comprehensive way due to limited conditions and preservation conditions. After the opening of the new Linhai Museum, these cultural relics have been properly protected and restored. “It is hoped that through this exhibition, the general public can enter history, experience art and enhance cultural confidence”.
