Recently, the particle monitor independently developed by the Zhejiang Institute of Metrology has been successfully integrated into the mask protection effect detector, which can replace imported products in the commercial field. The research and development will help mask protection detector manufacturers reduce the cost by at least 25%.
The protective effect is related to the final quality of the mask, the user’s health and life safety. At present, the protective effect of masks is more concerned about the particle filtration efficiency and bacterial filtration efficiency of mask materials, in fact, in addition to filtration efficiency, mask style design is also the key to determining the protective effect, once the mask and the wearer’s face can not be completely sealed, viruses, bacteria will leak in from the gap, resulting in protection failure, it is likely that the filtration efficiency is qualified and the protective effect is unqualified. Therefore, it is necessary to thoroughly test the protective effect of masks. The national standards GB 19083-2010 “Technical Requirements for Medical Protective Masks” and GB/T 32610-2016 “Technical Specifications for Daily Protective Masks” all put forward corresponding requirements for the protective effect of masks.
The mask protective effect detector is the main equipment to detect whether the protective mask can effectively intercept respiratory droplets and small particles in the air carrying pathogens. In the test, the concentration of particles in the detector is very high, the equipment parts are easy to be contaminated, the service life is short, and the loss is high. In particular, its key components, particle monitors, have long relied on imports from U.S. companies.
With the development of the new crown pneumonia epidemic and the upgrading of prevention and control, many enterprises have switched to the production of masks, the demand for mask protective effect testing has grown explosively, and the demand for equipment localization has become increasingly urgent. The atmospheric metrology innovation team of Zhejiang Institute of Metrology has been engaged in the research of atmospheric particulate matter detection and measurement methods for a long time, and has accumulated rich research experience and technical advantages. In response to this demand of society and enterprises, the team is fully engaged in technical research and concentrates on research, production and debugging. Using independent technology, based on the existing PM2.5 automatic monitor calibration device research, the particulate matter monitor is developed and designed, and finally a low-cost, portable monitoring equipment for monitoring the mass concentration of dust, oil smoke, aerosol and other high-concentration particulate matter can be developed in mass production, with a measurement range of (0.01-300)mg/m3. And through the design of protective air path, filter device, etc., to ensure that the instrument can operate at high concentration for a long time, extend the filter replacement cycle, and extend the service life of the equipment. The research and development results have changed the situation that the key components of the domestic mask protective effect detector have long relied on imports, leading the transformation and upgrading of the industry.
