On May 28, the “2018 Provincial Hong Kong and Macao Work Training Conference” hosted by the Provincial Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office was held in Hangzhou.
More than 170 cadres engaged in the work of Hong Kong and Macao Office, the provincial Hong Kong and Macao Office, Yiwu, Yueqing Hong Kong and Macao Office and other departments attended the meeting.
The training session invited Huang Liuquan, Deputy Director and Party member of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, renowned Hong Kong and Macao scholar Tian Feilong, as well as several officials from relevant institutions in Zhejiang, Hong Kong, and Macao, including the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, the Liaison Office in Zhejiang, the Hangzhou Representative Office of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hangzhou Liaison Office of the Macao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and the China Hong Kong Macao Chamber of Commerce Zhejiang, to provide guidance and lectures. Jin Yonghui, Director of the Provincial Hong Kong Macao Office, presided over the training session.
Jin Yonghui expressed his gratitude to Director Huang and his delegation from the State Council Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office for their guidance and lectures. He briefly introduced the current situation of Hong Kong and Macao work in our province, and urged all Hong Kong and Macao work cadres in the province to cherish training opportunities, deeply learn and understand the central government’s policies and spirits on Hong Kong and Macao work, consolidate their business, and promote new developments in local Hong Kong and Macao work.
Deputy Director Huang Liuquan of the State Council Hong Kong Affairs Office gave a comprehensive introduction to the history and practical achievements of the “One Country, Two Systems” policy, focusing on the theme of the new era’s “One Country, Two Systems” practice and the tasks and missions of local Hong Kong and Macao work; Based on the discussion of Hong Kong and Macao issues in the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, this article provides a detailed interpretation of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s ideas on governing Hong Kong and Macao; Deeply elaborated on how to leverage local advantages, make good use of the complementary “ship to sea” strategy among Zhejiang, Hong Kong, and Macao, and further promote high-level cooperation with the Hong Kong and Macao regions; And proposed to the attending cadres to improve their position, make precise efforts, and perfect mechanisms in their work, actively promote Zhejiang’s integration with Hong Kong and Macao’s development, and better integrate into the overall development of the country.
Associate Professor Tian Feilong, based on his years of research experience and achievements, introduced the new development of “One Country, Two Systems” and Hong Kong governance from the perspectives of jurisprudence, Hong Kong constitutionalism, and social reality. He suggested that the working cadres in Hong Kong and Macao should further strengthen their research on the relevant legal system in Hong Kong, promote exchanges and communication with Hong Kong and Macao enterprises, education industry, judicial personnel and the masses, and promote the orderly integration of Hong Kong and Macao with the mainland.
The heads or representatives of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government’s Economic and Trade Office in Shanghai, Liaison Office in Zhejiang, Hangzhou Representative Office of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Hangzhou Liaison Office of the Macao Council for the Promotion of International Trade, and Zhejiang Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong were invited to introduce their respective work functions, the latest Hong Kong and Macao information, and the next steps of Zhejiang Hong Kong Macao cooperation.
Through training, our province’s Hong Kong and Macao work cadres have fully recognized the importance of Hong Kong and Macao work, and have gained further understanding and grasp of the guidelines and policies for national Hong Kong and Macao work in the new era, especially the Hong Kong and Macao section of the 19th National Congress report, which has important guiding significance for doing a good job in Hong Kong and Macao work in the future.
