On February 5, Zhou Guohui, Vice Chairman of the Provincial Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Provincial Department of Science and Technology, met with the visiting new Norwegian Consul General in Shanghai, Kristin Iglum, and his party at the Provincial Department of Science and Technology.
Zhou Guohui introduced to Consul General Ms. Yin Keting the characteristics of the economic and scientific and technological development of our province and the phased results achieved, the potential technical fields of cooperation between our province and Norway, and the construction of Zhijiang Laboratory, and especially mentioned the grand goal of building a strong and innovative province in our province in the next five years. He said that in terms of scientific and technological cooperation, our province and Norway have a good foundation for non-governmental cooperation, and they will definitely find a huge space for cooperation in the future.
Yin Keting said that Norwegian Prime Minister Solberg visited China last year, and in the talks with Premier Li Keqiang, both sides attached great importance to cooperation in scientific and technological innovation. Many Norwegian enterprises are in the process of transformation and upgrading, and China has a broad market application, which provides the possibility of cooperation between the two sides.
Zhou Guohui put forward three suggestions on how to promote scientific and technological cooperation between Zhejiang and Norway: first, take enterprises as the main body, carry out exchanges and cooperation around the industrial fields where our province and Norway have cooperation space, and strive to set up a joint industrial research and development plan supported by the governments of both sides; The third is to carry out in-depth cooperation with Norway in the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and intellectual property transactions, and welcome all Norwegian innovative entities to settle in Zhejiang for technology transfer and industrialization.
Yin Keting showed great interest in this. Both sides expressed their willingness to work together in the future to push Zhejiang-Norway scientific and technological cooperation to a new level.
