This year marks the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army and the 80th anniversary of the full-scale outbreak of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression.
The theme commemorative exhibition focuses on displaying a large number of precious historical photos and revolutionary cultural relics, telling the background and process of the birth of the New Fourth Army and the main achievements made on the anti-Japanese front, and reproducing the glorious achievements of the vast number of soldiers and civilians of the Jiangsu and Zhejiang Military Regions of the New Fourth Army in those years. Through telling the deeds and stories of the discipline, work style, will, and conviction handed down by the New Fourth Army in the struggle, work and life in western Zhejiang, we will inherit and carry forward the spirit of the iron army of the army and the people sharing the same fate, the officers and men living and dying together, and the indomitable spirit. At the same time, it introduces the 18 former sites of the New Fourth Army Jiangsu and Zhejiang Military Region that are still preserved in Baixian Township, Changxing, as well as the historical events that occurred here, showing the long revolutionary years of the New Fourth Army in Changxing in front of the audience.
“We firmly believe that this group of pictures and cultural relics that embody the blood of millions of heroes and martyrs is an excellent carrier for promoting the national spirit with patriotism as the core, and is also a vivid teaching material for remembering the martyrs, recalling history, and inspiring and educating future generations. Interested viewers are welcome to come and watch. According to the relevant person in charge of the Municipal Museum, on the day of the launch, there was also the “Huzhou Museum Alliance in Action – Gift to the August 1st Army Day” activity, which was jointly organized by the Municipal Museum and the Changxing New Fourth Army Memorial Hall and the Huzhou Martyrs Cemetery Management Institute to launch activities to experience the life of the military camp. “A military song, affection is long, a military salute, love wells up in the heart”, the activity allows children to put on military uniforms, understand the stories behind the revolutionary sages, sing military songs, draw military flags, and become a “little soldier” shouldering the sacred duty to defend the country.
