The torch relay of Hangzhou Asian Games has been carried out in many places in Zhejiang Province in recent days. Along the torch relay, citizens gave warm cheers and looked forward to the upcoming Asian Games. In the torch relay activities in recent stops, the strength of China women’s volleyball team shines, and the “figure” of women’s volleyball team has become a beautiful landscape.
On the scene of the torch relay in Huzhou Station of the Asian Games, a familiar figure appeared in the field of volleyball fans-China’s famous women’s volleyball player Zhou Suhong, the champion of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games. As the first torchbearer of the station, Zhou Suhong said that he was very excited and honored to run the first torchbearer in his hometown. In this Asian Games, China women’s volleyball team will fight at home. Zhou Suhong said that she will cheer for Younger.
Yuan Xinyue, the current captain of China women’s volleyball team, also served as the first torchbearer. At Ningbo Station of the Asian Games Torch Relay, Yuan Xinyue took a firm step to start the torch relay.
This weekend, the Paris Olympic Women’s Volleyball Qualifying Tournament will start in Ningbo. China women’s volleyball team at home has a clear goal-to qualify for the Olympic Games in the first time. After the qualifying round, China women’s volleyball team immediately moved to the Asian Games. Yuan Xinyue said that Ningbo is a blessed place for China women’s volleyball team, and will go all out to play the next game, so as to “raise the national flag and play the national anthem”.
Luo Yu, a former female volleyball player from China, passed the Asian Games torch as the first torchbearer in Zhoushan, his hometown. During the torch handover, Luo Yu made a spike in volleyball. “In the previous torch relay of the Asian Games, Hui Ruoqi, Zhou Suhong and other women’s volleyball teammates all made the spike action, so I also passed this action on, just like the spirit of women’s volleyball, one stick after another, passed down from generation to generation.” Luo Yu said.
Thirteen years ago, Luo Yu missed the Guangzhou Asian Games due to injury. This time, she participated in the Hangzhou Asian Games as a torchbearer, which also fulfilled her wish. Today, Luo Yu has become the vice president of Zhoushan Youth Sports School. Rooted at the grassroots level, Luo Yu hopes to help more children realize their sports dreams.
China women’s volleyball team was not the only one who carried the torch of the Hangzhou Asian Games. Yu Juemin, former head coach of China women’s volleyball team, also became a torchbearer of the Asian Games. At the 16th Asian Games, Yu Juemin led China women’s volleyball team to win the championship. Now, Yu Juemin has also joined the grass roots and served as the head coach of Shaoxing Volleyball Team.
In the Asian Games torch relay in shaoxing railway station, Yu Juemin was the first torchbearer. “It’s a great honor to be the first torchbearer. I’m also the first torchbearer in Shaoxing youth volleyball.” He said, I wish China women’s volleyball team success in the Asian Games and win the championship.
