On September 27th, Huzhou Museum launched the “Exhibition of Famous People Chanting Huzhou in Past Dynasties-Collection of Contemporary Famous Calligraphy”, with a total of 73 calligraphy works in the collection. The exhibition will last until October 7th.
Huzhou has a clear landscape since ancient times, and it is also a rich “Silk House” and “Land of Fish and Rice”. From the Southern and Northern Dynasties, through the Tang, Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, there are countless famous poems praising Huzhou, among which there are many famous works throughout the ages, such as Jiangnan Qu by Liang Liu Yun in the Southern Dynasties, Fisherman’s Songs by Tang Zhang Zhihe, He Shan on Dojo Hill by Song Su Shi, Floating Jade Mountain by Yuan Zhao Mengfu and so on. In order to preserve and display these excellent classical poetry works, Huzhou people who have a special liking for calligraphy invited domestic painters and calligraphers to write these poems, including Lu Yanshao, Qigong, Shen Maishi, Tang Yun, Cheng Shifa and other famous artists, who are really cursive seals and have both styles. In addition, the self-made poems and calligraphy works of modern celebrities such as Xia Chengtao, Fei Xinwo and Sha Menghai, which praise Huzhou’s landscapes, are also precious.
“Traveling all over the beautiful places in the south of the Yangtze River, I only live in Huzhou in my life”. By appreciating the artistic treasures of these poems and calligraphy, I believe that the audience will not only admire the exquisite calligraphy art of the masters of calligraphy and painting, but also have a deeper understanding of Huzhou, an ancient city in the south of the Yangtze River with a long history and rich humanities.
