On November 10th, the fourth China International Import Expo came to an end. The first cultural relics and artworks section has received attention from all parties since the opening, becoming a new highlight and growth point of this year’s CIIE. 41 cultural relics and artworks from 9 overseas exhibitors, including Christie’s, Sotheby’s, and FuYiSi, who participated in the CIIE for the first time, have reached purchase intentions, with a total value of 760 million yuan, far exceeding the transaction value of 2.2 million yuan for the previous 5 exhibits. Among the exhibits that have reached the purchase intention, there are many exquisite Chinese cultural relics and arts. For example, Zhang Daqian’s “Amazing Talents” and “Fragrant Trees”, Qi Baishi’s “Red Thread Stealing Box”, Fu Baoshi’s “Illustrated Reading”, Huang Binhong’s “500000 Volume Tower”, Li Xiongcai’s “Yangtze River Bridge”, Wu Guanzhong’s “Huanteng” and “Selected Works”, Chang Yu’s “Chrysanthemum Vase on the Yellow Table”, and so on. Relying on the CIIE as the “main channel” for promoting the return of overseas cultural relics, Shanghai has become the “gateway” for international cultural relics and artworks.
