On October 24, the seminar on the high-quality development of the ancient garden construction industry in 2021 and the fifth anniversary of the founding of “Building Gardens” was held in Hangzhou. Experts and scholars, design institutes, enterprise organizations and industry colleagues from all over the country jointly discussed the high-quality development path of the ancient garden construction industry.
Through academic reports, theme salons, new book launches, award ceremonies, boutique project exhibitions, book exhibitions, visits and studies, the seminar interprets the new policies for urban and rural construction, demonstrates cutting-edge technology in the industry, discusses how ancient garden construction enterprises meet challenges under multiple pressures such as the COVID-19, real estate risks, and how to seize opportunities in the context of urban renewal and rural revitalization.
Ni Jiangbo, the former first level inspector of the Department of Standards and Quotas of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Rural Development, clarified the development direction of urban and rural construction from the policy perspective, and proposed that the landscape architecture industry should follow the nature, inherit and innovate, assume the responsibility and mission of building a beautiful city, a beautiful countryside and even a beautiful China, and meet the people’s growing needs for a beautiful ecological environment. Lu Qi, a professor from the School of Architecture of South China University of Technology, told how the ancient landscape architecture industry took the responsibility of telling Chinese stories with small incisions and broad vision, and promoted the creative transformation and innovative development of China’s excellent traditional culture. Ma Bingjian, an ancient architecture expert, took the experience and practice of Beijing’s old city protection as an example to interpret the new national policy on the protection and inheritance of historical culture, and proposed that the architectural discipline should focus on the training of comprehensive talents who understand both western architecture and traditional Chinese architecture.
The theme salon, “Development opportunities for garden and ancient construction enterprises in the context of rural revitalization”, invited relevant experts, scholars, designers and representatives of practical enterprises to communicate with each other on the scene to discuss the role of enterprises in rural landscape construction, how to activate the countryside with small and micro buildings, the development direction, development opportunities and existing problems of garden and ancient construction industry in the context of rural revitalization, and share the experience and insights of rural construction.
