Since August 2011, Haining No.1 Middle School has started the Xinjiang Senior High School Class, with 648 students from 11 ethnic groups in Xinjiang. In recent years, the school has been focusing on building a strong sense of the Chinese nation community, and through the implementation of the “Red Boat Pomegranate Seed” project, it has paid attention to Bacon’s soul-building, actively carried out national unity education, and promoted students of all ethnic groups to study, live and grow up as one family. More than 850 ethnic students have been sent to colleges and universities, and nearly one third of them have set foot on jobs. In 2020 and 2021, the school was awarded as a cultivating unit of national unity and progress in Zhejiang Province and a national demonstration unit of national unity and progress. Set up a student flag team to hold a flag-raising ceremony every week, organize the study of the spirit of the Xinjiang Work Forum and the advanced deeds of Karakorum heroes, visit the Nanhu Revolutionary Memorial Hall and Shajiabang Revolutionary Education Base, and constantly enhance the responsibility of ethnic students, national justice and feelings of home and country.

Actively explore the new mode of education and management of ethnic classes, make the brand of “Zhang Dad’s Happiness Studio” bright, set up a team of “counselors+teachers+psychologists”, and use the working method of “three guides and three hearts” to play a good role in family integration. Start the training plan of “Snow Lotus Facing the Sun”, set up a choir and recitation team, and carry out activities such as “Xinjiang Good Dance” and “the most touching musical instrument” to promote the integration of national culture and campus education. Support students to set up their own “Snow Lotus Shadow” TV station, “Snow Lotus Voice” radio station and “Snow Lotus in Chaoxiang” editorial department, display ethnic and regional culture, and publicize touching stories of unity and mutual assistance.
The third is to work hard on the word “integration” and explore the “new path” of national unity. Organize students returning to Xinjiang to join the “Golden Seed Publicity Project” every summer vacation, publicize ethnic policies to relatives and friends, and tell a good story of unity. Encourage students to participate in the “Heart of Xiang Lian” national unity promotion action, and sign social practice bases with Haining Museum, Tiantong Co., Ltd. and other units to carry out collaborative social practice between schools and places. Carry out a series of activities of “I have a home in Haining”, and take projects such as “micro-wish” and “national spring” as the link to push.Motivate Haining citizens, local families and ethnic students to communicate in pairs and enhance their feelings. We launched the “Returning Migratory Birds” program, encouraged graduates to actively return to Haining for innovation and entrepreneurship, and organized teachers, students and graduates to jointly arrange poems to recite “I am the golden seed of the motherland” and participate in the literary performance of “Ode to the Party” for ethnic classes in the province, which was widely praised.

Ethnic work has received more attention from all walks of life. The main leaders of the municipal party committee and municipal government conduct special research on the work of running ethnic classes every year, demanding that the cause of national unity and progress be integrated into the overall development of the city and be grasped as a basic cause. The Municipal Health and Health Bureau has opened up a “green channel” for ethnic students to seek medical treatment, and 19 enterprises and institutions have signed contracts to become social practice bases for national unity.
The brand coverage of the project has been further expanded. “Zhang Baba Happiness Studio” conducts heart-to-heart talks every year 2.50,000 person-times, widely welcomed by ethnic students. The “Golden Seed Publicity Project” covers more than 1,300 villages in Xinjiang, with a cumulative audience of 1..580 thousand people. National unity moves from school to outside school. Every year, students participate in the social practice of school-place cooperation and school-enterprise cooperation for more than 1,000 times.
National unity is firmly rooted in the hearts of students. In the past ten years, thousands of students have been trained to enter institutions of higher learning, and the college entrance examination rate has exceeded 90%, providing talent support for economic development and social stability in ethnic areas. In the No.4 Middle School of Luopu County, Hotan, Xinjiang, Tacheng Border Management Detachment, Hami Central Hospital, Chongqing Medical University and other places, graduates have expressed their gratitude to Haining, the “second hometown”, by letters and videos. They have firmly believed in youth, shouldered the responsibility of home and country, and made unremitting efforts to realize the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
