Since the establishment of friendly relations between our province and Fukui Prefecture in October 1993, the two sides have carried out colorful exchanges and cooperation in politics, economy, science and technology, culture and other fields, and achieved gratifying results.
I. Friendly exchanges between the governments of two provinces and counties
1, high-level leaders between provinces and counties exchange visits and personnel exchanges
Since the establishment of friendly relations between provinces and counties, senior leaders of successive governments, people’s congresses, parliaments and friendship associations in the two provinces and counties have basically exchanged visits.
In October, 1993, Governor Wan Xueyuan led a delegation of Zhejiang provincial government to visit Fukui, and formally signed an agreement with Governor Yukio Kurita to conclude friendly relations between two provinces and counties.
In August 1995, Fukui Prefecture Governor Yukio Kurita visited our province.
In April, 1996, Fukui Prefecture Governor Yukio Kurita and Prefecture Speaker Micha Nakajima led a delegation of Fukui Prefecture government and parliament to visit China to attend the inauguration ceremony of the Narcissus Building of Zhejiang-Fujian Friendship Club.
In November 1998, Yukio Kuroda, Governor of Fukui Prefecture, Japan, and his party visited six people.
In March, 2000, Governor Chai Songyue led a delegation of Zhejiang Provincial Government to pay a friendly visit to Fukui.
In October 2000, Yukio Kurita, the governor of Fukui Prefecture, led a 10-member delegation of Fukui Prefecture Government to visit our province.
In May 2002, Yukio Kurita, the governor of Fukui Prefecture, visited Zhejiang and visited Beijing and Guangdong Province. In Beijing, the governor and his party visited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the China-Japan Friendship Association, and accepted the honorary certificate of the title of “China-Japan Friendship Envoy” awarded by the China-Japan Friendship Association.
In September 2003, Governor Lv Zushan led a delegation from Zhejiang Province to visit Fukui Prefecture to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment of friendly relations between the two provinces and counties.
In October 2003, Governor Ichikawa led a delegation of Fukui Prefecture Government to visit Zhejiang Province to attend the 10th anniversary celebration of the establishment of friendly relations between two provinces and counties in Hangzhou.
In November, 2004, Yamamoto Masatoshi, deputy governor of Fukui Prefecture, visited Zhejiang to attend the celebration ceremony of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the Economic Exchange Promotion Agency and related economic and tourism exchange seminars held in Hangzhou.
In December, 2004, a joint delegation of Fukui Prefecture Council Government, represented by Yasuo Maeda, Speaker of Fukui Prefecture Council, and Kaji Akashi, Cashier, visited Zhejiang Province.
In July, 2005, a 14-member delegation of Zhejiang Provincial Government headed by Vice Governor Jin Deshui visited South Korea and Japan, attended a briefing on investment and tourism in Zhejiang Province, and visited Fukui Prefecture.
In March, 2007, Xia Baolong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, led a delegation of our province to visit Fukui Prefecture.
In October 2013, Feng Ming, deputy director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, led a delegation to visit Fukui Prefecture to participate in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the completion of Fukui in Zhejiang Province.
In February, 2014, the Governor of Fukui Prefecture, Ichikawa, and the Speaker of the House, Ichihiko Sasakaoka, visited Zhejiang to participate in the 20th anniversary of the conclusion of friendship between the two provinces and counties.
2. The local sister cities are in good condition.
Driven by the provincial sister-city relationship, Hangzhou, Shaoxing, Jiaxing, Taizhou and pinghu city in our province have established friendly exchange relations with Fukui City, Luyuan City, Sakai City (formerly Chunchekiang Town), Dunga City and Xiaobang City in Fukui County respectively.
Two, two provinces and counties in economic and technological exchanges and cooperation
Since the conclusion, the two provinces and counties have carried out various forms of exchanges and cooperation in the fields of economy, technology and trade, and achieved practical results in enterprise diagnosis, technical guidance and information exchange, which promoted each other’s economic development. In 1992, the Federation of Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry established an investment consulting office in Zhejiang, and in 1995, it established Zhejiang Hangzhou Office, which has been removed. Since the establishment of Zhejiang-Fukui Economic Exchange Promotion Agency in 1994, it has done a lot of work for exchanges, joint ventures and cooperation between enterprises in two provinces and counties, and held eight institutional meetings. In 1999, Fukui Prefecture Shanghai Office was established. In October 2003, Zhejiang Rihua Chemical Co., Ltd., a joint venture between Fukui County and Zhejiang Province, was established in Xiaoshan Economic and Technological Development Zone. The total investment of this enterprise is 9 million US dollars, and the first phase investment is 4.5 million US dollars. Up to now, Fukui has set up 18 joint ventures and foreign-funded enterprises in our province.
Third, exchanges and cooperation in personnel training in two provinces and counties
From 1988 to 2013, through government and non-governmental channels, our province sent 182 technical trainees and 19 international exchange personnel to Fukui Prefecture. Accepted more than 60 Chinese trainees from Fukui Prefecture.
Fourth, cultural and sports exchanges between two provinces and counties
Cultural, sports and art groups in our province and Fukui Prefecture have frequently exchanged visits and exchanges for many years. Fukui culture, art, women and children, and calligraphy from all walks of life have visited our province in succession. Zhejiang University (formerly Hangzhou University) and Fukui University, Zhejiang University Medical College (formerly Zhejiang Medical University) and Fukui Medical University, Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics (formerly Zhejiang Institute of Finance and Economics) and Fukui Prefectural University, Zhejiang Sci-Tech University (formerly Zhejiang Institute of Engineering) and Fukui University, December 1998, Zhejiang Library and Fukui Prefectural Library (December 1998), Zhejiang Federation of Industry and Commerce and Fukui Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In October, 2000, the Provincial Disabled Persons’ Federation sent disabled painters to participate in the first large-scale photo painting and calligraphy art exhibition of “Zhejiang-Fukui Blending” held in Fukui County, and gave a live performance.
V. Exchanges between teenagers in two provinces and counties
Hangzhou Clothing Vocational Middle School has established sister schools with Fukui Higher Specialized School, Hangzhou Bayi Middle School and Fukui Women’s College, the middle school affiliated to Shaoxing University of Arts and Sciences and Luyuan Junior High School, Hangzhou Senior Middle School and Fukui Hokuriku High School, Shaoxing Luxun Middle School and Fukui Lijinjin High School. As a representative of our province, Hangzhou No.13 Middle School participates in the Japan-China-Korea-Russia Junior Baseball Tournament held by Fukui Japan-China Friendship Association every year. In 2013, Hangzhou Qiushi Education Group was invited to participate in the 23rd World Junior Baseball Summer Camp held in Fukui Prefecture.
Since 1988, Fukui Youth Delegation has visited our province many times. In 1995, Yukio Kuroda, then governor of Fukui Prefecture, led more than 500 Japanese youths to visit our province. The Education Department of our province and Fukui Education Committee keep exchanging student groups every other year.
VI. News exchange
The news media exchanges between the two provinces and counties are active. In January 1991, Fukui TV and Hangzhou TV established friendly communication relations. In March 1991, Fukui Broadcasting established friendly communication relations with Zhejiang TV Station. In November 2001, Fukui Broadcasting and Zhejiang TV jointly produced a special program “Ten Years, We Walk Together”. President Kaji Ito was awarded the title of “Honorary Citizen of Zhejiang Province” by our province. In 2010, our province sent a 6-member news delegation to visit Fukui Prefecture for the first time. In 2011, Hangzhou TV Station cooperated with Fukui TV Station to shoot “Visiting Lu Xun’s mentor, Fujino Genkuro’s hometown Fukui”.
Seven, build a friendly club.
In April, 1996, the Shuixian Building of Huajiashanzhuang, a friendship club between our province and Fukui Prefecture, was completed and became one of the Sino-Japanese friendly exchange bases.
