“After learning a lot of skills and knowledge from experts, breeding has become worry-free and labor-saving, and production has increased.” A few days ago, Yuexi Cheng School in Ninghai County invited science and technology commissioners and university experts to hold a high-quality aquaculture training course in Yuexi Township successfully completed, Yang Neng’an, deputy secretary of Nanzhuang Village in Yuexi Township, said happily.
The 15-day aquaculture training consists of two parts: theoretical training and on-site instruction. The theoretical training course mainly teaches the scientific management of the bottom ecology of aquaculture ponds, such as shrimp early death syndrome, white stool and other common problems and prevention. The on-site guidance course is led by science and technology commissioners and university experts to visit multiple breeding bases and compare the quality of shrimp.
For a long time, Yuexi Township, Ninghai County, attaches great importance to aquaculture and insists on taking aquaculture as a fist project for agricultural and rural economic development. As a large aquaculture village in the township, Nanzhuang Village has an aquaculture area of 4,880 mu, and the villagers should engage in the breeding of green crabs, clams, shrimp and other aquatic products. “There are many people and a large area, but there are many problems encountered.” Yang Nengan said that farmers often cause economic losses due to lack of scientific breeding technology and experience. To this end, Yuexi School in Ninghai County combined with local aquaculture characteristic categories, and hired university experts to teach farmers the basic knowledge of breeding such as pond disinfection, seedling release, and disease prevention and control through door-to-door on-site guidance.
“Every time experts come to class, farmers are very positive and always ask questions with questions.” The person in charge of Yuexi Cheng School in Ninghai County said that at present, the school has developed a school-based curriculum for mariculture with local characteristics, applying scientific aquaculture theory to practice to help farmers improve their skills, improve production efficiency and increase income.
