On December 22nd, after a 54-hour online battle, the first “Zhijiang Cup” International Elite Challenge for Endogenous Security Defense of Industrial Internet was successfully concluded. During the Games, 40 teams of “white-hat hackers” from the United States, Germany, Russia, Japan, South Korea and China launched 950,000 high-intensity attacks on the serial mimetic industrial Internet core equipment developed by Zhijiang Laboratory, and none of them succeeded, which verified the universality and effectiveness of endogenous security theory and method in the field of industrial control network.
Industrial Internet is a new application ecology formed by the all-round and deep integration of industrial system and network information technology, and it is an important construction direction of information infrastructure in China’s new infrastructure field. Industrial Internet closely connects and integrates equipment, production lines, factories, suppliers, products and users through an open and global industrial-grade network platform, efficiently shares various factor resources, enhances the synergy of industrial chain, and promotes the transformation and development of manufacturing industry. However, the variety and quantity of its information system and control equipment are complicated, and the global industrial chain inevitably leads to problems such as loopholes and backdoors in related hardware and software devices or components. Traditional industrial control networks and equipment are basically in an unguarded state for attackers with ulterior motives.
In this competition, three traditional industrial control systems with the highest market share were specially selected, so that each team can experience the extraordinary superiority of original theory and unique technology to realize functional security and network security through comparative public testing with mimicry industrial control systems.
One of the highlights of this competition is to focus on the scene of “Mimicry Defense Industrial Internet”. Zhijiang Laboratory built a miniature device with reference to the 1000MW supercritical coal-fired power plant, and reconstructed the key control system by using the mimicry defense technology based on the endogenous security theory in cyberspace, which effectively enhanced the functional security and network security protection capabilities of the system. The related equipment and systems in this miniature device are the targets of various teams.
This competition also introduced the “white box” mode of “man-machine confrontation” in the field of industrial Internet security for the first time, and invited top “white hat hackers” at home and abroad as attackers, and played a game of man-machine confrontation according to the rules of “black box and white box parallel, external breakthrough and internal injection synchronous”.
Wu Jiangxing, an academician of China Academy of Engineering and chief scientist in the field of network security in Zhijiang Laboratory, believes that scientific and technological innovation must be the main support to accelerate the construction of a “double-cycle” development pattern and promote high-quality economic development. The serial mimetic construction equipment of industrial Internet, which is the target of public measurement, is a successful application of the original endogenous security theory and method in the field of industrial Internet in China. The “uncertainty effect” of the equipment can form a unique “mimetic defense fog”, which can fundamentally subvert the classic attack theories and technical methods such as “digging holes, setting back doors, planting viruses and hiding Trojans”, and can effectively suppress and control certain or uncertain risks, known or unknown security threats. Making it safe, effective, reliable and credible directly to the front line of industrial production can provide innovative technical means with quantifiable design and testable measurement for industrial production online and enterprise online.
After three days of uninterrupted fierce confrontation, three teams, namely Venom, Aitest and EversecLab, won the first prize, seven teams, including Lighthouse Lab and Shenhua, won the second prize, ten teams, including SOMD5 and Moan Technology, won the third prize, and the mimicry prize was won by three teams, namely Aitest, Venom and Bi Fang Security Lab.
