In order to make the treasured Liangzhu culture “live”, the Liangzhu Culture Expo, sponsored by the China Liangzhu Culture Research Association and undertaken by Ningbo Folk Artists Association and Ningbo Liangzhu Culture Industrial Park, was unveiled in the Liangzhu Culture Museum yesterday at the upcoming National Day, which is also one of the series of activities of the fourth municipal public culture and art festival.
There are hundreds of kinds of exhibits, with more than 500 pieces in number. Folk manuscripts of the story of Liang Zhu from ancient times to the present, as well as texts of Liang Zhu from Japan and South Korea. This exhibition shows the colorful culture of Liang Zhu, including folk legends, folk songs, operas, films and television, music, dance, and art.
A variety of Liang Zhu stories were displayed
According to Zhou Jingshu, the general planner of the exhibition and the president of the China Liangzhu Culture Research Association, the exhibits come from all over the country and overseas. Among them, the number of Liangzhu opera texts is the largest, with manuscripts, engraved copies, printed copies, etc., and different operas in different times often have different names. The reporter saw at the exhibition site that in addition to the well-known “Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai”, Yueju Opera also has books such as “Meet on the Terrace”, “The Song Book of Liang Zhu’s Marriage”, “The Reunion of Later Liang Shanbo”, and Sichuan Opera is mostly called “The Story of the Willow Shade”, as well as “Double Butterflies”, and “The English and Taiwan Curse the Media”.
Liang Shanbo, a comic book published in 1936, is the earliest comic book in China. Zhou Jingshu told the reporter that there are 12 volumes of this comic book series. Although the Liangzhu Cultural Park has only collected six or seven volumes, it is very precious. Its story is very different from the story of Liang Zhu on the stage today. It tells that Liang Shanbo was admitted to the first place in the exam, but was sent to the border to lead troops to fight because he refused to be a son-in-law, and finally reunited with Zhu Yingtai.
“The comic strip Liang Shanbo and Zhu Yingtai, painted by Zhang Lingtao, a Ningbo native in the 1940s, has the highest creative achievement. Later stories about Liang and Zhu are all based on this version. This comic book is also collected in our Liangzhu Cultural Park,” Zhou Jingshu said.
The map of the Qing Dynasty has the sign of “Liang Zhu Tomb”
It is reported that the woodcut version of the story of Liang Zhu on display this time is also very precious. For example, the woodcut version of “The Eighteen Provinces under Heaven” in Yangjiabu, Shandong Province in the Qing Dynasty marked Liang Zhu’s tomb as a famous landmark, which shows the great influence of Ningbo Liang Zhu.
Zhou Jingshu saw this map in Shandong ten years ago. He recalled that when he went to Weifang to investigate in 2007, he found a woodcut version of “The Eighteen Provinces of the World” in Yangjiabu, Shandong Province during the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, which was 1.9 meters long and 1.35 meters wide
The reporter learned that some of these precious exhibits were donated by lovers of Liang Zhu culture. For example, the road worker who works in Beijing as a literature and history lover is from Cixi. He was familiar with the story of Liang Zhu when he was young. In the 1990s, he bought some ancient books about Liang Zhu from a stall in Beijing, such as a printed copy of “Big Twin Butterflies”. In 1997, when he learned that Ningbo was preparing to build the Liangzhu Park, he donated more than 30 pieces of Liangzhu cultural collections, including a printed copy of the Ming Dynasty’s Double Immortals Scroll. “He said that this is something belonging to his hometown!” Zhou Jingshu was moved when he accepted the donated collection.
It is reported that in recent years, the Liangzhu Cultural Park has attached great importance to the rescue and protection of the national intangible cultural heritage Liangzhu Culture, has been excavating and collecting Liangzhu cultural heritage, and now has the most abundant Liangzhu Cultural Academic Museum in China. Due to the limited venues, this exhibition will continue to rotate thousands of exhibits and display them for a long time, constantly demonstrating the charm of the culture of Liang Zhu.
