On November 15th, the 13th East China Expo opened grandly.
At the same time, the “Dongyang Charm —— Zhang Baixiu, Wu Guang Oil Painting Exhibition” sponsored by the Propaganda Department of Dongyang Municipal Party Committee and organized by Dongyang Museum (China Wood Carving Museum) also opened the prelude, presenting the lost folk art in the form of oil painting, adding a thick ink and heavy color to the conference.
The ancient dwellings of Dongyang with a long history of one hundred years are the signs with the cultural characteristics of Dongyang.
Each single building has great humanistic and artistic value in architectural aesthetics, humanistic connotation, especially the decorative beauty mainly based on Dongyang wood carvings.
The simple and quiet cultural charm is not only the spiritual home of Dongyang wanderers, but also the source of creative inspiration for foreign artists.
This exhibition exhibits 42 works of Dongyang painter Zhang Baixiu and 41 works of Jiangxi painter Wu Guang. Reading Zhang Baixiu’s paintings feels the deep attachment of Dongyang local oil painters to their homeland, while Wu Guang’s paintings reveal the attraction of Dongyang ancient wood carving culture to foreign artists.
Oil painters appreciate the charm of traditional ancient villages in Dongyang with their different life experiences and capture the light of art left in the folk.
