Qingtian county, Lishui, a small town in southern Zhejiang famous for its coffee. According to statistics, the average annual coffee consumption in Qingtian is nearly 90 cups, and now the coffee culture here extends to all aspects of cultural tourism. At Qingtian Coffee Window Tourist Station (hereinafter referred to as “Qingka” Station), people can learn coffee knowledge, experience brewing coffee and buy high-quality coffee beans directly supplied from the place of origin. This post is like a bridge, connecting Qingtian, the hometown of overseas Chinese, and the fashionable “coffee world” at the other end.
“The water temperature is 92 degrees Celsius, and the water flows clockwise from the center at a constant speed. Do you already smell the aroma of coffee?” In the production deduction area on the first floor of Qingtian Coffee Window Tourist Station, Zhang Yanfeng is demonstrating coffee brewing for tourists. Zhang Yanfeng is a senior barista of SCA International Fine Coffee Association, and once served as the referee of the national barista skill competition. Now he has an additional identity-the administrator of Qingka Station.
“It is a very fulfilling thing to make Qingtian’s coffee culture spread more widely and further with the tourists coming and going.” When it comes to the post station, Zhang Yanfeng is familiar with every region: the coffee culture popularization area on the first floor clearly shows the global coffee culture and the development history of Qingtian coffee to tourists through 12 visiting boards, and the production deduction area and training interactive area can let tourists experience making coffee; The second floor is equipped with a western restaurant, where you can sit down and slowly feel the fashionable atmosphere of coffee and western food in Qingtian. Since it was put into use, Qingka Station has increasingly become a “coffee complex” that integrates coffee knowledge popularization, skill training, cultural creativity, standard setting, brand output and interactive experience.
“I only knew about instant coffee before, and I have never seen so many different kinds of coffee beans. The freshly ground coffee really tastes different. I will take my wife to try it next time.” Grandpa Zhang, a tourist from Shanghai, became the “unsolicited powder” of Qingtian Coffee after drinking a cup of hand-made coffee. “Nowadays, not only young people are interested in coffee, but also more and more elderly tourists take the initiative to walk into the green coffee station to taste coffee, understand coffee culture and buy coffee products.” The staff of the station said.
Since it was put into use, Qingka Station has been committed to improving its “self-hematopoiesis” ability. On the one hand, it optimizes the tourist experience by upgrading hardware equipment such as soft seating, on the other hand, it actively builds an interactive coffee experience platform, and regularly conducts public coffee classes, coffee culture science lectures, experience skills training and other activities to help Qingtian build a coffee town into a city of fashion and cultural tourism. According to statistics, since it was put into use in 2021, Qingka Station has received more than 100,000 tourists, and the sales of coffee beans and coffee equipment have exceeded one million yuan.
