The popularization of education, the prosperity of the imperial examinations, and the benign operation of the civil service system made the Song Dynasty a dynasty with a high degree of ideological education and the spirit of scholars and scholars in Chinese history. The scholars of the Song Dynasty took the safety of the world as their own responsibility, and played the strongest voice of the era of “the worries of the world first, and the joy of the world after the world”. With the improvement of the degree of social commodification, the emergence of the integration of cities and cities, and the prosperity of the urban economy, the elite culture of scholars and scholars and the popular culture of the common people penetrated in both directions, so that there were customs in rituals and courtesy, and in commercial trade and cultural exchanges, they were spread outside the territory by sea or land.
In the context of the restoration of the ritual system, the reorganization of Ethics and the revival of Confucianism in the Song Dynasty, Song Confucianism constructed a new Confucianism with Confucian ethics as the core, and at the same time aided Buddhism and Taoism into Confucianism. They not only discussed metaphysical philosophical issues such as human nature, human heart, destiny, rational qi, Taoism, righteousness and benefit, physical use, knowledge and action, movement and stillness, etc., but also explored “whether etiquette is a false name or a practical one”, “how to change etiquette from a false name to a practical one”, and “the combination of etiquette and reason”, which constituted an important content of Song and Ming Dynasty science and had a far-reaching impact.
