Recently, the Office of the Leading Group for Carbon Neutralization in peak carbon dioxide emissions, Huzhou City issued the Notice on Publishing the Second Batch of Typical Cases of Carbon Neutralization Innovation in peak carbon dioxide emissions, Huzhou City and the List of Cultivation Pilots. The Green Innovation Technology Empowering Energy Saving and Carbon Reduction in Building Materials Production submitted by Huzhou Science and Technology Bureau was selected as the second batch of typical cases of carbon neutral innovation in peak carbon dioxide emissions, Huzhou.
The building materials industry is a high energy consumption and high carbon emission industry. According to statistics, the energy consumption of building materials production in China will reach 11.5% in 2020..100 million tons of standard coal, accounting for 2.2% of the total energy consumption in China..3%, carbon emissions 28.200 million tons of CO2, accounting for 2.8% of the country’s total carbon emissions..2%。 How to save energy and reduce carbon in building materials production is very important to achieve the goal of “double carbon”.
This case is led by Huzhou Science and Technology Bureau, combined with Huzhou Huineng New Materials Technology Co., Ltd. and Yangtze River Delta Research Institute (Huzhou) of University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, aiming at the demand of energy saving and carbon reduction in the production process of autoclaved aerated concrete, various green innovative technologies, such as green raw material substitution, low-carbon fuel substitution, new carbon reduction technology, intelligent regulation and management platform, are developed and implemented, leading the industry to make resource utilization of bulk industrial solid waste and realize pollution reduction and carbon reduction by using clean fuel. Zero-carbon/negative-carbon technology and intelligent system can save energy and reduce carbon, create carbon emission reduction samples in high-carbon industries, and promote the development of building materials production industries such as autoclaved aerated concrete in the direction of green and low carbon.
Since the beginning of this year, Huzhou Science and Technology Bureau has thoroughly practiced the concept of green development, focused on the goal of “peak carbon dioxide emissions, carbon neutrality”, and accelerated the systematic project of energy saving, pollution reduction and carbon reduction in the whole city with scientific and technological projects, science and technology innovation carriers and innovative subjects as the starting points, and achieved positive results.
First, build an innovation platform
Focus on the research direction of green and low carbon, pollution reduction and carbon reduction, and actively create scientific and technological innovation platforms such as R&D centers and new R&D institutions above the municipal level. A newly declared provincial green low-carbon safe energy storage technology innovation center, a new research and development institution, Moganshan Research Institute of Deqing Zhejiang University of Technology, has made a series of scientific research achievements in carbon monitoring, carbon transformation and application, and dual-carbon strategy, established Moganshan Carbon Neutralization Innovation Center, built laboratories such as atmospheric environment and global change laboratory and green hydrogen energy technology laboratory, and was approved as the provincial “international scientific and technological cooperation base for carbon emission reduction and carbon monitoring technology” to become an influential scientific and technological platform in the field of green energy.
Second, the implementation of science and technology projects
In the municipal science and technology project guide, we will set up a special project of carbon neutrality in peak carbon dioxide emissions, gather the city’s dominant science and technology elements, focus on strengthening scientific and technological innovation in the comprehensive prevention and control technology of water, atmosphere, soil and solid waste, and strengthen technical research and equipment development in the fields of low-carbon energy, ecological carbon sink and low-carbon intelligent treatment. Since 2022, there have been 5 provincial “leading soldiers” and “leading geese” projects and 15 municipal key R&D projects in the field of double carbon and environmental protection technology.
Third, cultivate innovative subjects
Around the eight emerging industrial chains, we will accelerate the implementation of the “double multiplication” action of science and technology enterprises, strengthen the R&D capacity building of enterprises, support advantageous enterprises to take the lead in creating innovative consortia, and constantly strengthen the “innovation chain” and empower the “industrial chain”. Since 2022, 71 provincial high-tech small and medium-sized enterprises and 29 national high-tech enterprises in the field of eco-environmental protection have been identified, and 12 municipal research and development centers for high-tech enterprises in the field of double carbon have been newly identified.
