The report exhibition of “Collection of Dongou” in Wenzhou Museum is being held these days. This is the first national exhibition of movable cultural relics in our city, with about 220 precious cultural relics on display, which will end on August 10th. It is worth mentioning that the origins and stories of four precious cultural relics, such as the five-joint jar of green glaze in Ou kiln in the Eastern Han Dynasty, the porcelain inkstone drop of green glaze shepherd boy riding cattle in Yuanlongquan kiln, the tin warm pot with flowers in Rui ‘an Wu Hengji tin shop in Guangxu of Qing Dynasty, and the bronze reed in Western Zhou Dynasty, are quite interesting.
Bronze reed of Western Zhou Dynasty:
With the characteristics of Yue culture, the tomb owner or military leader
In September, 2003, villagers in Suifeng Village, Xianyan Street, ouhai district discovered a tomb while building a park on Yangfu Mountain to level the mound on the top of the mountain, and excavated a bronze cymbal and a bronze tripod. Experts from the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, Wenzhou Institute of Cultural Relics Protection and Archaeology rushed to the scene to conduct a rescue excavation of the tomb.
The bronze reed of the Western Zhou Dynasty was placed at the north end of the tomb and was well preserved. It is 10 centimeters high and 19 caliber..1 cm, bottom diameter 14 cm; Four decorative small ears in the shape of a cow’s head are set at equal distance between the shoulders and abdomen; There is also a large “C”-shaped moire with strong relief on the outer wall of the abdomen; What’s important is that the inner bottom of the reed is decorated with a big turtle pattern, the center of the turtle back is decorated with vortex patterns, and the periphery is decorated with moire patterns. Archaeologists judge the ornamentation as a treasure from its complexity and exquisite production.
Wu Xianjun, a member of China Ancient Ceramics Society and deputy secretary of the Party branch of Wenzhou Museum, said that the Western Zhou Dynasty implemented a strict hierarchical system. The funerary objects in this tomb not only contained a large number of jade articles, but also large bronze ritual instruments such as ding, GUI and cymbal, indicating that the tomb owner had a high status and power before his death. Bronze GUI and other bronzes have strong characteristics of Yue culture, and the tomb owner may be a military leader who fought in unison and should be a Yue aristocrat.
Five cans of green glaze in Ou kiln in Eastern Han Dynasty;
Provide valuable information for understanding the living customs of Wenzhou people.
On February 19th, 2013, 13 ancient tombs from the Eastern Han Dynasty to the Qing Dynasty were discovered in the construction site of Litang Village, Li ‘ao Street, ouhai district. After receiving the report, the cultural relics department of ouhai district immediately reported it to the cultural relics department at a higher level, and carried out rescue cleaning in conjunction with Wenzhou Cultural Relics Protection Management Office. This tomb is a rectangular brick tomb with a tunnel, with the inscription “Hitachi, September 6th, Xingping” on the brick, and 48 buried objects such as glazed pottery pots, five-couplet pots, copper coins and iron knives have been unearthed, which is the most buried object in the Eastern Han Dynasty in Zhejiang Province at present.
Five cans (also known as five bottles) are 29 high..5 cm, 12 caliber.5 cm, five small pots are connected on the top of the pot body, which is a funerary funerary vessel and an important example of Ou kiln firing in the late Eastern Han Dynasty. A standing puppy, a sitting bear and four birds are also molded next to the five small cans of the five-joint can. The same five-couplet jar was unearthed in the Eastern Han Tomb of Yangfushan in the eastern suburb of Wenzhou in 1958. Therefore, the five-couplet jar and the funerary objects unearthed from the same tomb provide valuable information for a comprehensive understanding of the funeral customs and daily life of Wenzhou people in the Eastern Han Dynasty.
Qing Guangxu Rui ‘an Wu Hengji Tin Shop’s flower tin warm pot;
Reflect the grand occasion of Wenzhou tin ware manufacturing at that time
The tin heating pot has a height of 18.5 cm, diameter 18 cm, foot diameter 13 cm. Wu Xianjun said that although it was a short time ago, it was designated as a national first-class cultural relic because it was a representative of Wenzhou tin ware industry in the late Qing Dynasty and early Republic of China, reflecting the grand occasion of Wenzhou tin ware manufacturing at that time.
Wu Hengji’s tin shop is located in South Street, Ruian City, and the owner is Wu Amin. The tin wares made by him are all hand-made, with exquisite workmanship, ingenious composition and unique style. They have been exhibited in international expositions twice, and Xuantong was praised for participating in Nanyang Advocacy Conference in the second year. Wu Xianjun believes that the value of cultural relics consists of three aspects: history, art and science, and its level needs comprehensive evaluation.
Yuan Longquan Kiln Green Glazed Shepherd Rides Cow Porcelain Inks;
It seems that I saw the busy scenes on both sides of the ancient Oujiang River.
On April 18, 1983, Taishun County Cultural Relics Survey Team went to Xinpu Township to conduct a cultural relics survey. According to local people, Xia Kehong, a villager from Sunping Village in Xinpu Township (formerly Nanpu Township in Xiaocun District), recently dug up seven pieces of porcelain and a bronze cymbal when demolishing an old house. After publicity and education by the leaders of the township government and the cultural relics survey team, Xia Kehong and other villagers voluntarily donated cultural relics to the national collection. The inkstone drop is one of them.
The whole inkstone is in the shape of a shepherd boy riding an ox, and the ox is 9..5 cm, the shepherd boy is 4..2 cm; The shepherd boy with a double bun kneels on the back of the cow, his hands bend forward and plays the flute; Cattle lie on the ground, head high and farsighted; The mouth of the cow is a spout, and the mouth of the cow is opened after the shepherd boy is on the ridge.
Wenzhou is one of the important coastal ports on the Maritime Silk Road in ancient China. Wu Xianjun said that this batch of Yuan Dynasty Longquan kiln porcelain discovered by Taishun and a batch of Yuan Dynasty Longquan kiln porcelain unearthed in the cellar at the foot of Houlong Village, Dongtou, dongping town in 1988 have many similarities with the Yuan Dynasty Longquan kiln porcelain discovered by the shipwreck in Xin ‘andi, South Korea in 1976, and all belong to export porcelain. They make us seem to see the scene of Wenzhou, where there are many kilns on both sides of the Oujiang River, fireworks facing each other, porcelain ships on the river, and they are busy day and night.
