On January 4th, the National Library, Tianjin Library, Nanjing Library, Yunnan Library, Suzhou Library and Sun Yat-sen University Library jointly released the digital resources of ancient books to the society. Readers can log on to the relevant websites of various libraries for free reference.
A total of 6,786 ancient book resources were newly released this time, including the Ming and Qing editions, manuscripts, rubbings of inscriptions, genealogy and other special resources.
The National Library of China released 1075 digital resources of ancient books with 192,000 pages, all of which are high-definition images of ancient books without watermark, mainly in the categories of chronology and catalogue. Version types include Ming edition, Qing edition, Qing manuscript, Qing manuscript, Shi Yinben, etc. Tianjin Library published 655 copies of 165 kinds of manuscripts, including a number of unpublished historical documents such as poetry collections, diaries, memorials and letters. Nanjing Library has made 399 kinds of collected works of Qing Dynasty into digital images by full color scanning, including some unique manuscripts, manuscripts and other written documents. Yunnan Provincial Library has published 63 rare books with 381 volumes, mainly the history department, including dynastic history, Yunnan local records and local documents. Suzhou Library currently has 1,496 digital ancient books, including ancient local documents, precious ancient books, collections of scholars and other contents, which can realize remote login, graphic comparison, full-text retrieval, conversion of complex and simplified characters and other functions. Sun Yat-sen University’s rubbings database now contains more than 10,000 pieces of 4,196 kinds of rubbings, including stone reliefs, stone classics, epitaphs, etc., and related rubbings can be searched by title, stone carving age, unearthed place, etc.
