Recently, the kick-off meeting of “R&D and Application of Energy-saving and Water-saving Modular Aquaculture Equipment”, which was undertaken by Zhejiang University, was held in Hangzhou. Zhejiang Freshwater Fisheries Research Institute attended the meeting as a project participant. At the meeting, the project leader, Zhao Jian, an associate researcher at the College of Bioengineering and Food of Zhejiang University, gave a comprehensive introduction to the project background, main problems to be solved, objectives and tasks, innovations, technical routes and implementation plans. Taking stream fish as the breakthrough point, the representative of our institute introduced the current situation of circulating water culture mode in our province in detail, and had in-depth communication with the participating experts and representatives on the aspects of fry cultivation of stream fish, integrated research and development of modular circulating water culture technology and system, which laid a good foundation for the smooth development of future work. The purpose of this project is to analyze the interaction mechanism between the farming environment and the metabolic behavior of cultured varieties in hilly and mountainous areas (islands), develop modular and detachable factory-based recirculating aquaculture facilities and equipment that do not destroy the tillage layer, and build a characteristic modular recirculating aquaculture demonstration zone, focusing on breaking the industrial dilemma of high energy consumption and low efficiency of the current recirculating aquaculture model in our province, and providing solid technical support for solidly promoting the leap-forward high-quality development of 26 counties in mountainous areas and the action of island common prosperity.
