On the afternoon of April 6th, the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation agreement between China Academy of Fine Arts and Shanghai Museum was held in Nanshan Campus. Han Xu, vice president of China Academy of Fine Arts, and Feng Li, deputy director of Shanghai Museum signed the agreement on behalf of both parties. Yang Jianwu, director of Zhejiang Cultural Relics Bureau, Gao Shiming, president of China Academy of Fine Arts, and Chu Xiaobo, director of Shanghai Museum witnessed the signing. The two sides exchanged views and reached a consensus on “resource sharing, academic integration, talent co-education, platform co-construction, and win-win cultural creation”. Yu Xuhong, member of the Party Committee of China Academy of Fine Arts, Minister of Propaganda Department and curator of the Art Museum, presided over the ceremony.
Yang Jianwu pointed out that under the background of the integrated national strategy of the Yangtze River Delta, resource sharing is an important way and cooperation is a road that must be taken. This strategic cooperation is a concrete and practical action for libraries and schools to respond to the central strategic decision, implement and realize resource sharing, strong cooperation and high-quality development. Both China Academy of Fine Arts and Shanghai Museum have a long history and rich heritage, and they all have lofty goals and shoulder grand tasks: Shanghai Museum should speed up its construction into a world-class museum with China characteristics; China Academy of Fine Arts should speed up the construction to become a world-class academy of fine arts that embodies the highest level of research and teaching in China’s culture and art. The two sides have a common basis for cooperation and their own advantages. It is expected that the two sides can promote mutual assistance, learn from each other’s strengths, complement each other’s strengths, further expand the space for cooperation, deepen the content of cooperation and improve the mechanism of cooperation.
Gao Shiming pointed out that there are two scenes in art education, one in the art college and the other in the museum. The combination of these two scenes is a natural match. There are five “commonalities” in the strategic cooperation framework between China Academy of Fine Arts and Shanghai Museum, namely: resource sharing, academic integration, talent co-education, platform co-construction and win-win situation of literature and creation. Under the guidance of these five “altogether” cooperation frameworks, China Academy of Fine Arts and Shanghai Museum will reach a long-term win-win cooperation and continuously expand the cooperation areas, in order to make our cultural relics “alive” and “on fire”.
Chu Xiaobo said that China Academy of Fine Arts is a “double-class” university with profound historical background and artistic cultivation. Shanghai Museum launched the “Big Museum” plan last year, and one of its priorities was to strengthen cooperation between museums and schools. One of the key points of cultural relics work in the new era is “excavating value”. The Shanghai Museum is rich in cultural relics resources, and the China Academy of Fine Arts is rich in human resources. Close cooperation and strong alliance between the two sides will surely promote the excavation of cultural relics value and make cultural relics “alive”.
The heads of relevant functional departments and teaching units of China Academy of Fine Arts, relevant departments of Shanghai Museum and relevant departments of Zhejiang Cultural Relics Bureau attended the signing ceremony.
