To deepen the series of work on “enriching farmers through science and technology”, accelerate the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, and promote the revitalization of rural agricultural industries. On April 11th, the District Science and Technology Bureau, in conjunction with the District Agriculture and Rural Bureau, carried out training on grain production and reduction of fertilizer and pesticide (comprehensive cultivation and breeding of rice and fishery).
More than 200 people, including the heads of agricultural and rural offices, large-scale rice, wheat, and rapeseed production entities, main agricultural input management entities, and leaders and technicians of unified prevention and control service organizations in various townships (streets) in the entire region, participated in the training. More than 800 relevant materials, including scientific fertilization technology promotion manuals, safe use of pesticides, a package of policies for strengthening agriculture and benefiting farmers in Wuxing District, and green rice prevention and control, were distributed on site.
Experts such as Meng Huabing and Sun Weiwei, who are special envoys for science and technology in the district, provided detailed training on the significance of reducing fertilizer dosage and increasing efficiency, the harm of excessive fertilizer application, the benefits of organic fertilizer application, the principles that scientific fertilization should follow, how distributors operate in accordance with the law, and the comprehensive cultivation and breeding technology of rice and fishery. They also extensively promoted and interpreted subsidies and policies related to grain (oil). In the training class, Qin Yebo, a senior agronomist from the Provincial Agricultural Promotion Center, was invited to introduce the technology of centralized rice seedling cultivation and integrated production, supply, and marketing.
This training has laid the foundation for further improving the production of grain and oil in the entire region in 2023, ensuring grain and oil safety, promoting the rectification of feedback issues from the second round of central environmental protection inspections, and promoting the three new technologies (new varieties, new technologies, and new models), and further advancing the scientific and technological level and high-quality development of grain and oil production in our region.
