The list of the second batch of provincial biodiversity experience sites was recently announced, and Nanxun Sangji Fish Pond was successfully selected. This is the only provincial biodiversity experience site in Huzhou.
The experience site is located in Nanxun District of Huzhou City and Digang Village of Fuzhen Town, an important agricultural cultural heritage site in the world. It is mainly a 1,000-mu mulberry fish pond core protection area, with outdoor bases such as fruit and vegetable rice planting area, freshwater fish and koi fish breeding area, and labor practice area. At the same time, it is equipped with supporting facilities such as mulberry fish pond historical cultural center, mulberry fish pond science museum, research experience building and experience teaching site. It is an all-round biodiversity experience site integrating indoor learning, on-site research and expert research.
It is understood that in 2017, the ecological circulation system of Sangji Fish Pond was listed as a “global important agricultural cultural heritage”, which is rich in agricultural biodiversity, genetic diversity and other biodiversity. With the ecological circulation mode of “pond culture, pond-based mulberry, mulberry leaf sericulture, silkworm excrement feeding fish, fish manure pond and pond mud drowning mulberry”, “zero pollution” to the ecological environment is realized.
In recent years, Nanxun District has taken measures such as mulberry planting, fish pond restoration and river dredging to carry out restorative protection and utilization of mulberry fish pond system. Established Sangji Fish Pond Industry Innovation R&D Center, which has derived more than 30 kinds of characteristic green products with annual sales of nearly 300 million yuan. Inheriting the innovative circulation mode, promoting the ecological circulation farming area of more than 26,000 mu, comprehensively improving the ecological and economic benefits, and driving farmers to get rich and increase their income. Explore a new mode of integrated development of rural tourism industry in the new era, hold a “fish” cultural festival, and build a fish-mulberry parent-child paradise with an annual reception of 600,000 people, which will boost the ecological enrichment and rural revitalization.
