Recently, jointly planned and sponsored by China Art Museum and Nanjing Museum, “Jinling’s Splendid Relics-Jinling Painting in 17th Century” opened in China Art Museum. A total of 81 sets of fine paintings and calligraphy collected by the two museums and involving more than 40 famous artists were exhibited in the exhibition, among which there were many masters and famous works, which fully demonstrated the handsome character of Jinling painting circle and the prosperity of painting. The exhibition will last until January 1, 2019.
The exhibition is divided into five parts: “Jinling Xiansheng” shows the elegant paintings of Dong Qichang, Lan Ying and Zhang Shibiao, as well as artists who are deeply influenced by the painting styles of wu school, Songjiang School, Wulin School and Xin ‘an School, such as Yao Yunzai, Wei Zhihuan and Hu Zongxin; “Eight Families in Jinling” shows the paintings of Fan Yin, Wu Hong, Zou Zhe and others with exquisite brushwork and cool style; “Jinling is different” shows the paintings of Gong Xian and Shi Tao, which are filled with a romantic sentimental feeling; “Jinling Yanli” shows the paintings of Ma Xianglan, Xue Susu, Zhou Xu, Gu Dachang and other female painters who are good at poetry and painting. After the exhibition of “The Afterglow of Jinling”, the paintings of Wu Dan, Zou Kun and Zong Yan were studied.
Wu Weishan, curator of China Art Museum, said that the planning of this exhibition has promoted the academic direction of China Art Museum: “China Art Museum is a national plastic arts museum which mainly collects, studies and displays China’s modern and contemporary works of art. Among the 110,000 works of art in its collection, there are more than 1,200 ancient paintings and calligraphy from Su Shi’s Xiaoxiang Bamboo Stone Map in the Northern Song Dynasty, covering various periods of Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties, which can be described as its own system. This exhibition, co-sponsored with Nanjing Museum, aims to share the collection resources of the two museums and let the audience appreciate the charm of ancient painting art. It is also through this exhibition that the good interaction between the two museums is enhanced, which is also an in-depth combing and continuation of the traditional context, and it is also the inheritance and promotion of Chinese excellent traditional culture. ” In addition, Wu Weishan also revealed that the China Art Museum held 93 exhibitions in 2018, including 26 self-planned exhibitions, 16 co-sponsored exhibitions and 51 hosted exhibitions by foreign units. It is understood that in 2019, China Art Museum will hold a large-scale art exhibition to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. In addition, the “Beauty in Jiangshan” landscape painting exhibition and the “National Unity” national sculpture exhibition will also meet with the general public.
