On the morning of August 2nd, Zhoushan’s first international original exhibition “Coming and Going to Tianjin-Zhoushan in the history of Sino-Korean exchanges” was held in Zhoushan Museum. The exhibition is based on the communication between China and South Korea. Through the exhibition of physical exhibits and ancient books and documents, Zhoushan, as an important node of the ancient Maritime Silk Road and an important ferry crossing, is an important event in the history of Sino-Korean communication, bringing a high-standard international cultural feast to the audience.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and South Korea, and it is also the year of cultural exchange between China and South Korea. Since the beginning of this year, Zhoushan has actively promoted a series of people-to-people cultural exchange activities between China and South Korea, promoted the historical and cultural exchanges between Zhoushan and its sister city, Jianghua County, South Korea, in an orderly manner, and built more effective platforms and carriers for foreign exchanges and cooperation. The exhibition “Traveling to and from Jindu-Zhoushan in the history of Sino-Korean exchanges” is the first original international exhibition jointly launched by Zhoushan Municipal People’s Government and Jianghua County. The exhibition selects the Zhoushan chapter in the great picture of Sino-Korean exchanges and witnesses the early road of friendly exchanges between China and South Korea from Zhoushan.

It is understood that this exhibition is divided into six chapters, namely, the road of rice, the road of trade, the road of porcelain, the road of worshipping Buddha, the road of friendship and the road of searching for the ancient, showing the cooperation and exchanges between China and South Korea in production, trade, culture and religion.

There are more than 100 exhibits (groups) on display in this exhibition. In addition to the pottery blocks with rice, the stone hairpin and the celadon from Yueyao collected in Zhoushan Museum, Jianghua County has sent 13 precious overseas cultural relics such as Korean celadon, pink celadon and Korean white porcelain not far from Wan Li. Institutions and individuals such as Ningbo Museum, Tianyi Pavilion Museum in Ningbo, local collectors Mr. Lin Bin and zhejiang international maritime college also generously provided relevant collections. The exhibition will last until October 30 this year, and interested citizens can go and watch it.

In addition to the exhibition, in September this year, Zhoushan Museum will also invite Chinese and Korean guests to hold an international academic forum with the theme of “Historical and Cultural Exchanges between Ancient Zhoushan and the Korean Peninsula”; Taking the promotion of different tourist attractions and cultures in Zhoushan and Jianghua County as the starting point, we made and released three videos of A Tale of Two Cities: A Talk on Chinese and Korean Cultures.
