In order to implement the spirit of religious work conferences at all levels and take the initiative in promoting the comprehensive and strict management of religion, the Buddhist community in Cixi actively responded to the call of the religious circles in the province to build a cultural brand of “Asking about the River” in China, and recently launched “Asking about the River-Monthly Lecture Hall”, aiming to carry out a series of lecture activities based on this lecture hall.
The “lecture hall” activity has been strongly supported by the religious departments of Ningbo and the Buddhist Association of Ningbo, and it is a concrete measure to implement the nine key tasks of the Buddhist community in Ningbo every year and carry out the “asking questions from the river” lecture and interpretation activities. The Buddhist community in Ningbo will take this activity to further explore the contents of Buddhist classics that are conducive to social harmony, progress of the times, health and civilization, and explain Buddhist teachings and rules in line with the requirements of the development and progress of contemporary China and the excellent traditional Chinese culture, so as to guide the majority of faculty and religious believers to further believe in integrity and strengthen self-education, self-management and self-restraint; At the same time, relying on the platform, we will select and cultivate outstanding lecturers in the Buddhist community, jointly inherit excellent culture, tell good stories about strict teaching, and show the good image of Buddhism in Ningbo.
The first lecture was held on February 19th at the Wulei Lecture Temple in Cixi. It was given by the resident vice president of Ningbo Buddhist Association, the president of Cixi Buddhist Association and the abbot of Wulei Lecture Temple.
