On April 2nd, in such a season of remembering the past, Hou Bo Memorial Hall in Xu Xiaobing, Tongxiang City will hold a memorial meeting and ashes scattering ceremony for Hou Bo, an outstanding party member of the Communist Party of China (CPC), a tried and loyal communist fighter, an honorary member of the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles and a famous female photographer. At the same time, there will be a documentary photo exhibition on the love of mulberry-Xu Xiaobing Hou Bo’s return to his hometown.
Xu Xiaobing and Hou Bo are famous revolutionary photographers in China, and they are known as “Red Wall Photographers”. In the 1930s, they went to Yan ‘an from Tongxiang, Zhejiang Province and Xiaxian, Shanxi Province to join in the revolution. With cameras and cameras as weapons, they aimed their cameras at the revolutionary holy land Yan ‘an, the war-torn Taihang Mountain, the brave and fearless soldiers, the ordinary and great people, the strategical generals, and the national leaders who loved the people and loved the people … They reproduced the China people’s battle course from darkness to light and from poverty to prosperity under the leadership of the Communist Party of China (CPC), and also wrote their own magnificent stories.
Xu Xiaobing left his hometown Tongxiang at the age of 16. After the outbreak of the Anti-Japanese War, he joined the Eighth Route Army in Taiyuan, Shanxi, then went to Yan ‘an, and then moved to Northeast China and Beijing. It was not until April 1983 that Xu Xiaobing and his wife, Hou Bo, set foot on the road to their hometown together for the first time. However, in the long years, the parents’ complex with their hometown and people has always been in their hearts and has become an eternal feeling. After their retirement, their parents will go back to their hometown almost once a year. They can always be found in schools, factories and fields. The economy and culture of their hometown and the lives of ordinary people have become their most concerned things, and their deep attachment to their hometown has deepened in their blood.
This exhibition featured photos of Xu Xiaobing and Hou Bo’s return to their hometowns, so as to deeply cherish the memory of the two old people, fully present their lofty spirit of loving the Party and the motherland, reproduce their cordial figure of being busy for their hometown and the people, inspire future generations to enhance their confidence and determination to serve the people, and unite the majestic power to join the new era and new journey.
