The Korean Swimming Association held the Asian Games bonus award ceremony in The Olympic Park Hotel, Songpo District, Seoul.
The South Korean swimming team won 22 MEDALS (60 gold MEDALS) at the Hangzhou Asian Games, which concluded on August 8.

There were 6 gold medals in a single Asian Games, which is 2 more than the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games (4 gold, 3 silver, 6 bronze), which was the best result in the Korean Swimming Asian Games. In addition, the Korean swimming team set a new Korean record in 14 events. The Korean team also won the most six medals (2 silver, 4 bronze) in a single Asian Games diving event at the Hangzhou Asian Games, surpassing the results in Jakarta and Palembang in 2018 (2 silver, 3 bronze) and Incheon (1 silver, 4 bronze) in 2014. In addition, South Korea also won one bronze medal in the open water competition at the Hangzhou Asian Games.
According to the Korea Swimming Association’s incentive program, the Asian Games gold medalist will receive 10 million won for the individual and 20 million won for the team (relay) (the participant allocation). The silver medal is awarded 2 million won for individuals, 4 million won for groups, 1 million won for bronze medals, and 2 million won for groups.
If a new Asian record is set, an additional 10 million won will be paid for individuals and groups, and an additional 1 million won will be paid for individuals and 2 million won if a new Korean record is set.
Yang Jae-hoon, Lee Ho-jun, Kim Woo-min and Hwang Xuan-woo won the gold medal in the men’s 4 x 200-meter freestyle relay final on the second day of swimming at the Hangzhou Asian Games on the 25th.
The contestant who received the most prize money at the award ceremony was Kim Woo-min. Kim Woo-min won a total of three gold medals in the men’s 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle and men’s 4x200m freestyle relay events. The 800m freestyle set a new record for South Korea, and the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay set a new Asian record. The Korea Swimming Association paid Kim Woo-min a total of 28,833,400 won.
Huang Xuanyou, the “ace of the golden generation”, also performed very eye-catching at the Hangzhou Asian Games. Following the men’s 100m freestyle (3rd) on September 24, the men’s 4x200m freestyle relay (1st) on the 25th, the men’s 400m medley (2nd) on the 26th, the men’s 200m freestyle (1st) and the 4x100m medley relay (3rd) on the 27th, as of the 28th, Huang Xuanyou won medals for 5 consecutive days. Huang Xuanyou won a total of 6 medals in Hangzhou, 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze.
