On October 20th, the “2021 National Training Course for Directors of Non-state-owned Museums” sponsored by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and undertaken by China Cultural Relics Information Consulting Center and Guangdong Provincial Administration of Cultural Heritage started in Shenzhen. Guan Qiang, member of the party group and deputy director of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Guan Qiang pointed out that non-state-owned museums are an important part of China’s museum industry. Since 2011, the State Administration of Cultural Heritage has held eleven consecutive training courses for directors of non-state-owned museums, training more than 500 students. This training is a concrete action to implement the Guiding Opinions on Promoting the Reform and Development of Museums issued by the Central Propaganda Department, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the State Administration of Cultural Heritage. He hopes that students will attach great importance to and cherish opportunities, study hard, strengthen exchanges, apply what they have learned, and make greater contributions to promoting the high-quality development of museums.
The training will last for 5 days, and the course will be lectured by 10 experts and scholars, covering non-museum career development, professional ethics, collection management, application of new technologies, museum evaluation, etc. 51 students from 31 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government will participate in the training.
After the opening ceremony, Guan Qiang made an investigation on implementing the new development concept and promoting the coordinated development of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Cultural Relics Museum, and held a discussion with the responsible comrades of Guangdong and Shenzhen cultural relics departments.
