On February 11th, the 2022-2023 music season concert “Spring in the Alps” by the Ningbo Symphony Orchestra was held at the Ningbo Cultural Plaza Grand Theater. The concert was performed by Lv Jia, the music art director of the National Grand Theater and the famous conductor, and Huang Ruoyu, the performing doctor of the American Julia Conservatory of Music, acted as the solo, performing Richard Strauss’s magnificent Alpine Symphony and Mozart’s Piano concerto No. 21 in C major.
In the first half of the concert, Mozart’s Twenty first Piano concerto in C major was performed, and the pianist Huang Ruoyu played the solo. This lively and festive concerto with a bright impression ignited the warm atmosphere of the concert. It is worth mentioning that in Mozart’s era, one characteristic of composers creating concertos was that they did not create colorful fragments, but were improvised by pianists on site. This performance is the first original brilliance of the first movement brought by pianist Huang Ruoyu in China!
This concert was highly anticipated before its performance, and in the second half, the performance of the “Alpine Symphony”, with a magnificent orchestra lineup, played a brilliant sound from the “Alps”. This epic work is Richard Strauss’ last symphonic poem, with its grand organization and formidable difficulty, posing a huge challenge for both the conductor and the orchestra, and rarely seen on the domestic stage. This is currently the largest symphonic concert organized in Ningbo. The Ningbo Symphony Orchestra is very young but at a very high level! It can be said that if a band can excellently complete this work, then its performance level should be ranked first in China. “Before the performance, Lv Jia said.
