A white jade bottle, a Qing cultural relic lost overseas, successfully signed a sales agreement on the 10th, becoming the first temporary entry exhibition cultural relic in the 4th China International Import Expo(CIIE).
Relying on the implementation of the relevant tax exemption policy for the retention and purchase of exhibits, in the last China International Import Expo(CIIE), five pieces of China ancient painting cultural relics brought by an exhibitor became “commodities”, which were sold at home after enjoying the tax exemption of nearly 300,000 yuan, opening the channel for the return of overseas China cultural relics for the first time. This year, this exhibitor continued to participate in the exhibition, and displayed this capped bottle from a private American collector at the 4th China International Import Expo(CIIE).
This bottle cover is made of Hetian white jade, which is elegant and exquisite, and has a strong palace art style in the middle of Qing Dynasty. Exhibitor Ms. Ji said: “On the first day of the opening of this China International Import Expo(CIIE), five domestic buyers expressed their purchase intentions to us.”
It is understood that this year’s China International Import Expo(CIIE) first set up a cultural relics and art section. Twenty overseas institutions, including Sotheby’s and Christie’s, presented here with a group of world-class artworks, cultural relics and collectibles. There were 178 classic works by famous Chinese and foreign artists, which surprised China International Import Expo(CIIE) by way of bonded exhibition. The total declared goods value exceeded 2.3 billion yuan.
This year, the General Administration of Customs introduced 15 facilitation measures to support the 4th China International Import Expo(CIIE), among which, “For the exhibits recognized as cultural relics by the national cultural relics department, the Customs allows them to participate in the form of temporary entry exhibits or bonded exhibitions; The policy of selling cultural relics exhibits that the national cultural relics department allows domestic consumers to buy during the exhibition period and continuing to give tax incentives has stimulated the enthusiasm of foreign cultural relics exhibitors and domestic collectors.
The Customs of Shanghai Convention and Exhibition Center will do a good job in customs clearance, from communicating with the cultural relics department for approval in the early stage to applying for delivery in the subsequent stage, and carefully implement the convenient measures for the participation of related works of art in China International Import Expo(CIIE).
Ms. Ji, an exhibitor, said, “Last year, we brought five exhibits with the idea of trying. Thanks to the strong support of customs, cultural relics and other regulatory authorities, the exhibits were successfully sold. This year’s China International Import Expo(CIIE) meeting clinched a deal again, which strengthened our confidence in continuing to attend the meeting. We will rely on the China International Import Expo(CIIE) platform to promote more and better overseas folk cultural relics. ” (Qiu Weike, Jiang Yu)
