April 18 is the International Day of Monuments and Sites, and as of now, there are 55 national archaeological sites parks across the country. How to inject new activities and new momentum into the “heritage park”?
Liangzhu Ancient City: Modern digital technology creates a digital intelligence experience park
Located in Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province, the site of Liangzhu Ancient City is the most densely distributed and core area of Liangzhu cultural remains, with a reserve area of 146 square kilometers. A series of important archaeological achievements such as the land and water gates, the ruins of the city wall, the Mojiaoshan palace area, and the tomb of the anti-mountain king have verified the history of Chinese civilization for more than 5,000 years. On July 6, 2019, the Liangzhu Ancient City Site was successfully inscribed on the World Heritage List, and the day after the successful application, the Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins Park was officially opened to the public.
Some experts use such a sentence to describe today’s Liangzhu ancient city, “thousands of underground weather, a mound on the ground”, after five thousand years of time, although the site of Liangzhu ancient city retains rich underground archaeological remains, but on the ground except for terraces, soil slopes and dam remains overgrown with vegetation, there are not many other obvious architectural remains.
Wu Jianmin is a lover of Liangzhu culture, and the area where she stands is the Mojiaoshan Palace District, where the braised dirt slope and the white stone block represent each different house base site in the Mojiaoshan Palace. Previously, she could only stand at the ruins of the Mojiaoshan Palace District to imagine what it once looked like. Now, wearing a pair of AR glasses, after modeling and restoration, the “real” Mojiaoshan Palace can clearly appear in front of Wu Jianmin’s eyes.
If AR glasses create a virtual dream for tourists, then the Vlog device “recorded” the virtual dream and converted it into a fun experience video that can be seen, saved, and shared. As long as visitors stand in front of the fixed-point camera, they can integrate with the scenery of the site and the virtual statue animation elements to have an “encounter” spanning 5,000 years.
Zheng Jia, person in charge of Liangzhu Ancient City Ruins Park: We are the first 5G site park in China. The full coverage of 5G improves the viewing, visibility and interest of the heritage park. A 5G digital intelligence experience hall is set up in the park, restoring a scene of the production and life of Liangzhu people, and visitors can experience the way of fishing and hunting of Liangzhu ancestors.
Visit the merchants in Yinxu and visit China’s glorious Bronze Age
On April 13, archaeological experts extracted a relatively rare bronze knight at the excavation site on the north side of the new building of the Yinxu Museum. After emergency cleaning and reinforcement, the next day, this bronze knight revealed its true face, and the historical information it carried began to surface.
Yue Zhanwei, researcher at the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: When this jue was buried in it, it was wrapped in this cloth, and there were also painted and black colors on this cloth, and it should also be a kind of ornament. When I was buried, I felt very precious, so I wrapped it in cloth. Some others.of ceremonial vessels, such as bangs, as well as guils, some are wrapped for burial, and it is still relatively rare to wrap them so well. Some of them can see some cloth patterns locally on the surface, and even fewer are painted on the cloth.
Yin Wu is the first documented site of the capital city of the Shang Dynasty in China’s history and confirmed by archaeological excavations and oracle bones, more than 3,300 years ago. Yinxu archaeological research, which began in 1928 and is still going on today, has successively discovered palaces, temples, royal tombs and many settlement sites, as well as oracle bone cellars and handicraft workshop remains, gradually revealing the glorious Bronze Age in Chinese history. In 2001, Yinxu was rated as the first of the “100 Great Archaeological Discoveries of the 20th Century in China”, and in 2010, it became the first batch of national archaeological site parks in China. Tens of thousands of oracle bones, bronzes, jade, etc. have been unearthed in Yinxu, and some exquisite cultural relics are currently on display in the Yinxu Museum in the site park. As an upgrade project of the Yinxu National Archaeological Site Park, the new Yinxu Site Museum is expected to open this year.
The Yin Wu No. 54 tomb, discovered in 2000, is second only to the Nuhao Tomb in area. At present, almost all the bronzes and jade objects unearthed from the tomb are on display in the museum, explaining the ancient code of the genes of Chinese civilization to tourists who come to check in and study. Walking out of the museum and entering the park, visitors can also revisit the excavation site in a number of protection exhibition areas such as Tomb 54 and the land of the Huadong oracle bone, and further explore the Yin Shang civilization in the dual dimension of time and space.
Yue Zhanwei, researcher at the Institute of Archaeology, Chinese Academy of Social Sciences: So we also show this tomb, which is to give the audience a more three-dimensional feeling, so that the audience can more easily understand and accept.
According to the “Yinxu National Archaeological Site Park Plan” approved by the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, the total planned area of Yinxu National Archaeological Site Park exceeds 29 square kilometers. The landscape style and display improvement of important sites such as the palace Zongmiao, the royal tomb, and the Huanbei Mall have been put on the agenda. According to reports, in recent years, the newly discovered large pond garden on the west side of the palace and one of the best preserved “courtyards” in the palace area are also expected to be restored and displayed.
Deng Xinghua, Executive Deputy Director of the Anyang Yinxu World Cultural Heritage Protection and Management Committee: In the next step, we will pay close attention to the goals and tasks, gradually restore the original topography of the Yinxu site and the pattern of the “Dayi merchant” capital, and build the Chinese civilization marking project with high quality.
