“The Chinese nation has a long history, Chinese civilization has a long history, and Chinese culture is profound and profound. A museum is a big school.” There are 41 state-owned museums, 33 private museums, 50 village (community) museums, 6 provincial museums and 6 university museums in Hangzhou, and all kinds of museums at all levels are flourishing. The results of the first general survey of movable cultural relics show that there are more than 360,000 movable cultural relics in Hangzhou. These non-renewable and irreplaceable precious resources are injecting a strong “spiritual power” into Hangzhou.
Today, with the steady increase in the number of museums, the strong internal demand for high-quality development of museums and the unprecedented importance of cultural relics safety, how to iteratively upgrade the collection management? A few days ago, Hangzhou held a symposium on the management of museum collections in the whole city to discuss how to strengthen the management of museum collections and firmly hold the red line of movable cultural relics.
Formulate unified norms for the protection and management of movable cultural relics in the city.
The museum is a public cultural place with three functions of collection, research and exhibition. The collection of cultural relics is the basis for the museum to play its various functions, and the security of the collection is the top priority of the museum’s security work. Hangzhou has always placed collection management at the top of museum work. In 2017, it won the first national advanced collective of movable cultural relics survey.
At the end of 2021, Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Landscape Architecture and Cultural Relics carried out a special inspection on the collection management of the whole city, and conducted a preliminary investigation on the collection management of the whole city’s museums. Subsequently, experts in collection management were invited to organize the backbone forces of Hangzhou Museum and Hangzhou Arts and Crafts Museum, and a working group on the formulation of collection management norms was established. The working group studied and analyzed the universality and particularity of museum collection management in the city, and drafted the Hangzhou Museum Collection Management System (Trial) (hereinafter referred to as the System). After several rounds of soliciting opinions, the System was officially implemented on July 1, 2022, which formulated a unified standard for the protection and management of movable cultural relics in the city.
The System consists of seven special systems, including general principles and collection management system, collection warehouse management system, collection staff management system, collection borrowing management system, collection preventive protection, restoration, reproduction and rubbing system, collection file management system, collection information data use and collection management system, which comprehensively covers the requirements of collection management, and is applicable to all kinds of museums at all levels, providing reference standards for industry museums and non-state-owned museums.
“This system is an internal management system. It is worth mentioning that the work requirements related to the safety of the collection are strictly and clearly stipulated, such as lending the collection and entering the warehouse by staff in non-collection related positions, so that the original management has vague areas. There are rules to follow.” The staff of the Municipal Bureau of Landscape Architecture and Culture introduced.
Leverage “digitalization” as a cultural relic.”escort”
“The collection of cultural relics is the core of the museum’s work. Most of the work of the museum is often carried out around the cultural relics collection, and the importance of the cultural relics collection is beyond doubt.” The relevant person in charge of the Municipal Bureau of Gardens and Culture said.
Compared with books and courses, chen more, a museum cultural relic exhibition, is vivid, vivid and real, which makes people with different educational levels, different demands, different ideas and even different countries have the same understanding and different thinking about history.
While improving the collection management system, the Municipal Bureau of Landscape Architecture and Culture has developed the “Smart Garden Culture” collection management system. The system was launched at the end of 2020. After more than one year’s trial run-in, it officially began to be promoted in the whole city in April 2022, and it was divided into two working groups, which lasted for three months and was basically completed. Relying on this system, the state-owned museums in the city will effectively realize the digital management of collections, the workflow will be more optimized, and the relevant vouchers will be electronic and leave traces in real time. In addition, it also guides the Linping District Museum to “unveil the list” the digital reform project of Zhejiang Cultural Relics Bureau-cultural relics fingerprint, focusing on the blockchain of movable cultural relics, which will realize the whole process of digital management of movable cultural relics.
Next, a system and a system will “escort” the cultural relics collection of Hangzhou Museum.
