This is one of the songs by painter Chen Mansheng in his poem “The Rhyme of the Second Half Tang Studio (also known as his friend in Shanghai Art School, art historian, and painter Wang Bomin)”. On May 1st, the art exhibition “A Scholar’s Introduction to the Qing Dynasty – Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Mr. Chen Mansheng’s Birthday” organized by the Wenling Municipal Bureau of Culture, Radio, Television, Tourism and Sports began to be exhibited in the temporary exhibition hall on the second floor of the Wenling Museum. Graduated from Shanghai Academy of Fine Arts in 948, good at Chinese flower and bird painting, retired teacher of Wenling Middle School, member of Wenling CPPCC, member of China Artists Association Zhejiang Branch. When the collection of Mr. Chen’s posthumous works, “Chen Mansheng’s Painting Collection,” was published by the China Academy of Fine Arts Press, Chen Yelin wrote “Afterword,” discussing his father’s painting career, My father devoted his entire life to the art of painting. My father had been traveling to his grandfather’s house since childhood and was influenced by it. He splashed ink and graffiti, which was innocent and unrestrained, and was deeply loved by Yifu Weng In August 1945, after the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, my father was very happy. He went to Shanghai and was introduced by a friend to meet with the principal Liu Haisu of the Shanghai Fine Arts College. During the semester, he meticulously studied and achieved outstanding results, which were highly regarded by professors such as Pan Tianshou, Lu Yifei, and Zhu Lesan. After graduating in 1948, he created the “Orchid and Bamboo Painting” Written by Pan Tianshou, it is designated as an excellent work by graduates of the Department of Traditional Chinese Painting and retained in the school archives. After completing his studies, Principal Liu Haisu repeatedly advised him to stay in Shanghai to teach and explore Shanghai style art. At that time, due to frequent civil wars and the intensification of white terror, my father had to think twice and had to bid farewell to the teacher and return home. Later, introduced by Lin Ziren, a senior educator in Wenling County, he taught at Wenling Middle School. In addition to his father’s academic affairs, he continued to paint for decades, like a day, until he passed away Mr. Wang Bomin’s “Preface” for his collection of paintings states: “Mansheng is diligent and diligent, yearning for green vines and white sun, with a charm of nearly eight strange things, and chasing after Wu Laofou. His implicit creation has become Laoman’s personal style. He often creates plum blossoms, orchids, purple vines, peonies, lotus flowers, roses, pine trees, roosters, goldfish, etc. With ease and ease, his brushstrokes are sharp, and his spirit is extraordinary. He has a unique style
