On the evening of August 29 and 30, the opera “Red Boat”, which reflects the major theme of the centenary of the founding of the CPC, was auditioned for the first time at the Jiaxing Grand Theater.
“Red Boat” is a highlight of Zhejiang Province’s celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the CPC. The play focuses on the 13 party representatives of the CPC National Congress and Wang Huiwu, a witness of the Great Conference of that year, and shows the birth of the Communist Party of China on a small boat in the South Lake of Jiaxing, and carries the historical choice, the hope of the nation, and the epic picture of chopping waves and sailing to glory. The great journey of the Chinese Communists in Nanhu, Jiaxing, is an immortal theme of the artistic creation of the vast number of literary and artistic workers. The spirit of the Red Boat conveyed in the opera highlights the founding spirit of the Communist Party of China, the spiritual source of the Chinese revolution, the original intention and mission of the Chinese Communists, and the spirit of initiative, struggle and dedication of the Party.
