On the afternoon of October 19th, Xianju Xiatang Archaeological Workstation was unveiled. Yang Jianwu, member of the party group of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and director of the Provincial Cultural Relics Bureau, attended the unveiling ceremony.
Xiatang Archaeological Workstation was jointly established by the Provincial Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology and Xianju County. It is the thirteenth provincial archaeological workstation and base after the first archaeological workstation was set up in Pingyao, Yuhang, the provincial archaeological institute in 1983, and it is also the first archaeological workstation officially listed in the archaeological site of Wanshan Mountain. Mainly responsible for the archaeological investigation, exploration, excavation and the restoration, protection and research of unearthed cultural relics in Xiatang site and its surrounding areas in Xianju County. This is of great significance to the study of the distribution of early Neolithic culture, the relationship between regions and agricultural economy.
