On May 25th, the final of the 7th Hangzhou Gold Medal Tour Guide Competition was held with the theme of “Welcome the Asian Games and Tell the Past”. The 15 gold medal tour guides selected in the final will be included in the ranks of high-level talents (E-class) in Hangzhou and enjoy corresponding policy treatment.
At present, there are more than 1 licensed tour guides in Hangzhou.390,000 people, these tour guides who serve the front line of cultural tourism in Hangzhou, are an integral part of the city’s tourism image. The biennial “Golden Tour Guides” Competition is the first project in Hangzhou to select and train first-line tourism elites, which provides talent support for the high-level development of Hangzhou tourism. The “Golden Tour Guides” represent the highest-quality tourism talents and tourism services in Hangzhou. Since 2009, Hangzhou has selected 214 “gold medal tour guides”, and the contest has become a high-level platform for Hangzhou to select, reserve and cultivate the first-line tourism elites.
Compared with previous years, this year’s “gold medal tour guide” has a higher threshold and the competition system has been upgraded. In the senior tourism talent selection competition attended by nearly 100 people, the contestants compete not only for language expression ability, but also for comprehensive strength such as knowledge breadth, cultural connotation, explanation skills, language art and service ability. Especially after the epidemic, the trend of the whole tourism market has changed, and the emerging new humanistic theme landmarks and fresh gameplay have been included in the competition questions.
The reporter learned from the organizing Committee of the competition that this year’s gold medal tour guide competition lasted for two months, and the contestants had to go through four stages: preliminary selection, preliminary competition, semi-finals and finals. According to the requirements of each round of competitions, when recommending tourism products, routes and games, the contestants should not stick to tradition or follow the script, but should dig deeper into Hangzhou’s traditional scenic spots, cultural history, lifestyle and emerging formats, combine the changes of tourists’ psychological needs after the epidemic, pay attention to the historical context and urban cultural connotation behind the world heritage, and design customized, personalized and diversified tourism routes. It is this change that brings more freshness to the theme explanation, and also tests the contestants’ explanation ability, adaptability and knowledge reserve ability.
In the final held on May 25th, 30 contestants “showed their strengths”. They focused on the three themes of Asian Games venues, cultural experience points of Hangzhou Asian Games and Song Yun culture, and connected Hangzhou study, hiking routes, equestrian sports, storytelling and storytelling, and music performances in series, fully demonstrating Hangzhou’s rich cultural tourism resources.
According to the results of the contest, 15 contestants, including Yu Ying, Dai Chen and Wang Cuirong, were awarded the honorary title of “Gold Tour Guide” in Hangzhou, and they can apply for the relevant treatment of high-level talents (E-class) in Hangzhou according to regulations; The top 3 players with the total score in the final events were awarded the title of “Hangzhou Technical Expert”, and the top 16-30 players with the total score in the final events were awarded the honorary title of “Hangzhou Excellent Tour Guide”.
