On March 27 local time, Hu Heping, Minister of Culture and Tourism, led a delegation to Spain, where they held talks with Secretary General Zurab Pololikashvili at the headquarters of the United Nations World Tourism Organization. The two sides had in-depth discussions on strengthening cooperation between China and the World Tourism Organization and topics of common concern.
Hu Heping reviewed his pleasant meeting with Zurab in Hangzhou in February of this year and stated that the Chinese government has been piloting the resumption of Chinese citizen outbound team tourism business since this year. Currently, there are 60 pilot countries. China will, as always, support the work of the United Nations World Tourism Organization, and is willing to continue to deepen exchanges and cooperation, jointly promote the revitalization and vitality of the global tourism industry, and contribute China’s wisdom and strength to the reform and construction of the global tourism governance system. Hu Heping also had in-depth exchanges with Zurab on topics such as hosting the World Tourism Development Conference, selecting the “Best Tourism Villages”, and the South South Cooperation Assistance Fund project.
Zulabu welcomed Hu Heping and his delegation. He said that this visit was the first time that a Chinese minister of culture and tourism visited the headquarters of the World Tourism Organization. Thanks for the importance China attaches to strengthening cooperation with the United Nations World Tourism Organization, and is willing to strengthen cooperation with China in hosting the World Tourism Development Conference, developing rural tourism, promoting digital tourism development, and strengthening tourism education and training. I believe that the joint efforts and close cooperation between the two sides will strongly promote the recovery and development of the global tourism industry.
