On June 6, the second quarter regular press conference of the National Cutural Heritage Administration was held online. At the meeting, Lu Qiong, Director of the Department of Policies and Regulations of the National Cutural Heritage Administration, introduced that the theme of this year’s China’s Cultural Heritage Day was “Cultural Relics Protection: Advancing with the Times and Sharing with the People”, which reflected the rich connotation of cultural relics that witnessed the style of the times, displayed the style of the times, nourished the life of the times, and helped the development of the times.
This year’s China’s Cultural Heritage Day will be held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province on June 11. The event was hosted by the National Cutural Heritage Administration and the People’s Government of Gansu Province, and undertaken by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Gansu Province, the Cultural Heritage Bureau of Gansu Province, and the People’s Government of Lanzhou City.
Cheng Liang, Director of the Cultural Relics Bureau of Gansu Province, introduced that as the main city, Lanzhou will adopt a combination of online dissemination and on-site activities around the theme, and plan to launch more than 30 activities, including cultural relic appraisal, lectures on historical knowledge of Silk Road fortresses, “Exploration of Ancient Buildings,” intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, historical and cultural lectures on red stories, and mobile exhibitions such as the “National Backbone – Gansu Anti Japanese War Figures Exhibition”, which will benefit the people, Actively expanding public participation. In addition, more than 150 cultural and museum units in Gansu Province will organize more than 490 activities, including exhibitions and exhibitions, cultural and museum knowledge lecture forums, museum research and learning, various interactive experiences, literary and artistic performances, intangible cultural heritage exhibitions, and cultural and technological innovation.
Luo Jing, Director of the Department of Science, Technology and Education of the National Cutural Heritage Administration, highlighted the second Forum on Cultural Relics Technology Innovation. At the forum, the leaders or key representatives of 13 related projects, including archaeology and cultural heritage value recognition, Chinese civilization exploration and research, cultural heritage disease assessment and protection and restoration, cultural heritage risk monitoring and prevention, cultural heritage inheritance and utilization, focused on the national key research and development plan “Cultural Heritage Protection and Utilization”, gave academic reports, showcasing the main scientific research progress made since the implementation of the project, Promote academic exchange and mutual learning among project teams, and stimulate the vitality of cultural relic technology innovation.
It is reported that, in addition to the series of activities in Lanzhou, Gansu, the main city, under the initiative of the National Cutural Heritage Administration, local cultural relics departments and cultural and museum units will strictly follow the requirements of COVID-19 prevention and control, scientifically plan, ensure safety, organize and carry out more than 6300 daily online and offline activities of cultural and natural heritage, show the characteristics of the cultural and museum industry, and enrich the cultural life of the masses.
