Recently, the Fuyang Workstation of Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology was established in the Cultural Relics Protection Center of Fuyang District. This is the seventh workstation established by the Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology, following six workstations in the main urban area, Xiaoshan, Lin’an, Jiande, Tonglu, and Yuhang.
Fuyang has a long history and profound cultural heritage, with rich and diverse underground cultural relics. Archaeological discoveries such as Wayao Li, Wugui Mountain, and Xindeng Ancient City Wall confirm the profound history of Fuyang, which is of great significance for the protection of cultural heritage and social and economic development. The establishment of an archaeological Fuyang workstation is not only the love and support of the Hangzhou Municipal Bureau of Landscape and Cultural Relics and the Hangzhou Institute of Cultural Relics and Archaeology for Fuyang archaeological work, but also an effective measure to cultivate talents in grassroots archaeological work and archaeological research.
