The “2010 Hong Kong, Macao and Zhejiang Week” was held in Hong Kong and Macao as scheduled from January 10 to 16, 2010, and it was a complete success. The provincial delegation and sub-delegations arranged 30 and 13 activities in Hong Kong and Macao respectively, with economic and trade exchanges as the main line, supplemented by press releases, media meetings, high-level visits and cultural performances. This is a large-scale comprehensive activity in Hong Kong and Macao in recent years.
During the “Zhejiang Week”, Secretary Zhao Hongzhu led a provincial delegation to visit Tung Chee-hwa, Vice Chairman of the National Committee of CPPCC, Donald Tsang, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, Chui Sai On, Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region, the Liaison Office of Hong Kong and Macao, the Office of the Special Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hong Kong and Macao, and other central government agencies in Hong Kong and Macao. He visited the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, the Hong Kong Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Hong Kong Manufacturers’ Federation, the Macau Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, the Macau Manufacturers’ Federation, the Hong Kong Zhejiang Association and the Macao Jiangsu-Zhejiang-Shanghai Association, and visited the flagship project of Hong Kong Xingye International Group “Discovery Bay”, Phoenix Satellite TV, Kerry Group, Standard Chartered Bank, China Resources Group, Bank of China Group and Fuchun Company in Hong Kong, and met some famous people in Hong Kong and Macao political and industrial circles. During their stay in Hong Kong and Macao, the provincial delegation was also invited to attend a large-scale welcome banquet held by all walks of life in Hong Kong and Macao, and got together with Zhejiang rural sages to talk about their hometown.
In related activities, Zhao Hongzhu introduced Zhejiang’s economic and social development in recent years, and various measures and effects to deal with the impact of the international financial crisis. After a lapse of five years, Zhejiang Province once again went to Hong Kong and Macao to hold the “2010 Hong Kong, Macao and Zhejiang Week”, aiming at implementing the “one country, two systems” policy of the CPC Central Committee, further promoting the implementation of CEPA and deepening the economic and trade cooperation and exchanges between Zhejiang, Hong Kong and Macao.
Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments and people from all walks of life have expressed their desire to establish closer cooperative relations with Zhejiang, and believe that the successful holding of “2010 Hong Kong, Macao and Zhejiang Week” will further enhance the understanding between Zhejiang and Hong Kong and Macao SAR governments and people from all walks of life in Hong Kong and Macao, further expand the space for cooperation, achieve a win-win situation of complementary advantages and mutual benefit, and lay a solid foundation for pragmatic cooperation in a wider field and at a higher level in the future.
