On February 21st, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism held a symposium for representatives to the National People’s Congress and members of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference to report on cultural and tourism work and listen to the opinions and suggestions of representative members. Hu Heping, Secretary of the Party Group and Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Lu Yingchuan, a member of the Party Group and Deputy Minister of the Ministry, presided over the meeting. Rao Quan, a member of the Party Group and Deputy Minister of the Ministry, reported on the progress of cultural and tourism work in 2022, as well as the overall plan and main tasks for 2023. At the symposium, representatives from the National Library of China, Xiong Yuanming, Han Ziyong, member of the China Arts and Crafts Museum and the China Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, Liu Wanming, member of the China National Museum, Wang Yong, member of the National Peking Opera Academy, Dai Bin, member of the China Tourism Research Institute, Li Liusan, member of the China Cultural Heritage Research Institute, Tian Qinxin, Zhang Kaili, member of the China National Theatre Academy, and Zhao Cong, member of the Central Ethnic Orchestra, delivered speeches respectively, combining their practical work Exchange opinions and suggestions on the implementation of duties, including cultural and tourism legislation, cultural and artistic assistance in rural revitalization, intangible cultural heritage protection, cultural relic protection, and tourism industry recovery and development.
After listening to the speeches of the representative committee members, Hu Heping pointed out that the annual National Two Sessions are a major event in the political life of the Party and the country. They are an important institutional design for adhering to, developing, and practicing the entire process of people’s democracy, fully reflecting the enormous superiority of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and the unique advantages of the “rule of China”. The year 2023 marks the beginning of the comprehensive implementation of the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the beginning of a new journey towards building a socialist modernized country. The 14th National People’s Congress and the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference held their first meeting, with crucial milestones and significant significance. I hope that all representative members can effectively enhance their sense of responsibility, mission, and honor, strengthen their political stance, maintain a high spirit, adhere to seeking truth and pragmatism, and actively offer suggestions and suggestions, in order to fulfill the heavy trust of the Party and the people and achieve results. We must adhere to our original mission, stand firm in the position of the people, firmly establish the development concept of putting the people at the center, always put the people at the highest position in our hearts, focus on meeting the growing needs of the people for a better life, and reflect the urgent needs of the Party and the country’s development, as well as the urgent needs and concerns of the people, in our proposal.
