Recently, the “Hangzhou Grand Canal Cultural Protection, Inheritance and Utilization and National Cultural Park Construction Plan” was issued, which clarified the “road map” for the construction of the Grand Canal National Cultural Park (Hangzhou section).
In other words, the Grand Canal (Hangzhou section) and certain surrounding areas will be transformed into cultural parks, and the environment, supporting facilities and cultural atmosphere will be leveraged.
Where does this “garden” involve?
The Grand Canal (Hangzhou section) connects the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal and the East Zhejiang Canal, and connects the river with the sea.
Therefore, the national cultural park covers seven urban areas, including Shangcheng, Gongshu, West Lake, Binjiang, Xiaoshan, Yuhang and Linping.
