From November 11th to 25th, organized by the National Library (National Museum of Classical Books) and undertaken by the Wenzhou Library, the exhibition of the return and reconstruction of the Zhuhuan Hepu · Past Chongguang – “Yongle Grand Ceremony”, co organized by the Aojiang Town Cultural Tourism Health and Sports Service Center and the Aojiang Library, was exhibited in the Yancai Exhibition Hall on the first floor of the Aojiang Town Cultural and Sports Center.
The Yongle Classic is a precious cultural heritage of the Chinese nation and also one of the “Four Special Collections” in the National Library’s rare editions. It is a collection of ancient Chinese classics compiled under the leadership of Emperor Chengzu Zhu Di and Yao Guangxiao during the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty. It was completed in the sixth year of the Yongle reign of the Ming Dynasty (1408), with a total of over 3000 people participating in the compilation. The entire book is approximately 370 million words, totaling 11095 volumes. It was transcribed by the calligrapher using the official regular script “Taige Ti” of the Ming Dynasty, with each stroke and painting, The Encyclopedia Britannica refers to it as the “largest encyclopedia in the history of the world”. This grand compilation of “The Biography of the Hundred Kings in the Preface, the Classic of All Dynasties” is “a collection of ancient and modern works”, with a scale far ahead of all other genres. It is actually a source of classic books and a treasure trove of posthumous works. Many art and literary secrets, laws and regulations rely on them to be passed down to future generations, benefiting scholars.
