Starting from February 4th, the Stockholm China Cultural Center has launched a series of online activities for the 2021 “Happy Spring Festival”.
What excites Zhejiang’s personality is that in the online classroom “Talking about New Year Customs, Watching Skills, Reading Culture – Tasting the Taste of the Spring Festival”, Zhejiang elements can be seen everywhere. The “China Innovation New Year Painting Base” Jinhua woodblock New Year pictures, the “Jiangnan First Lantern Festival” Xiashi lantern colors, Wenzhou Rice Sculpture New Year’s Eve dinner, Wu Opera Facebook, Chinese characters in the Spring Festival couplets… Through short videos of general education introduction, performance display, and online interaction, Zhejiang’s New Year customs are presented to the world; The micro film “Bull in the Sky – Chinese New Year Flavor for International Friends” is themed on the Chinese zodiac sign of the ox. The event team is composed of culinary masters, foreign teachers, and Chinese and foreign students from Zhejiang Tourism Vocational College. They learn, cook, and share three projects: Chinese hot dishes, Chinese cold dishes, and Chinese noodles, allowing more international friends to experience the connotation and charm of Chinese cuisine culture in the cloud; The Spring Festival themed art exhibition “Spring Fantasy” at the Zhejiang Art Museum integrates animation, videos, pictures, and interactive games. Through various stages such as “welcoming the Spring Festival”, “celebrating the Spring Festival”, “stirring up the Spring Festival”, and “opening the Spring Festival”, traditional Spring Festival folk activities, couplets, paintings, non legacy art, traditional Chinese medicine, calligraphy, and the spring scenery in Zhejiang are presented to audiences at home and abroad, Elaborate on the cultural symbols of the Chinese Spring Festival and the values and concepts of the Chinese nation.
Before and after the Spring Festival in previous years, Zhejiang Province organized a group of excellent literary and artistic troupes to carry out overseas “Happy Spring Festival” cultural exchanges and tourism promotion activities in various countries. In 2021, affected by the COVID-19, the Department of Culture and Tourism of Zhejiang Province actively changed its working ideas, explored and sorted out the existing brand resources, elaborately planned and created a number of digital content such as “Poetry and Painting Zhejiang” webpage columns, “Cloud Classroom” of intangible cultural heritage folk customs, “Cloud Exhibition” of the theme, “Cloud Performance” of excellent programs, which are suitable for the dissemination of overseas Chinese cultural centers and other cooperative institutions, including cultural and tourism resources promotion, folk experience interaction 13 online activities with rich content and diverse elements, including comprehensive exhibitions, traditional Chinese opera music, drama performances, and food and cultural films, convey New Year blessings and good intentions to people around the world at the turn of the old year and the new year.
