Recently, Cangnan Mazu Cultural Park held a ceremony to beam the Tianhou Temple, which was attended by nearly 500 Mazu believers in the county.
Mazu Cultural Park, as one of the holy places to show Chinese Mazu culture, the main hall Tianhou Palace is estimated to cost 12 million yuan, with a building area of 814.56㎡ and an indoor area of 592.56㎡, with a total floor and a podium height of about 23m, which can be said to be the highest antique building in Wenzhou.
The Tianhou Palace adopts the Ming and Qing Dynasties style, the main body is pure wood structure, and the main hall system is Xieshan double eaves. It has five large rooms and two large corridors on the left and right sides, with a total of six rooms. In the middle, the third bay goes out with the width of the corridor before and after, and the double eaves overlap. The wood used in Tianhou Palace is imported red logs. In order to properly reflect the architectural style in Zhejiang and Fujian, carving techniques are used as usual to create an elegant charm of antique.
The Mazu Cultural Park project covers an area of 150 mu, with an estimated total investment of about 106 million yuan. The main buildings include Tianhou Palace, Guanyin Pavilion, Sannai Hall, Shengmu Temple, Guanhai Building, Chaotian Pavilion, Bell Tower, Drum Tower, Mazu Cultural Exhibition Hall, folk cultural centers on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, stage and mountain gate, and the buildings are mostly connected by corridors. Mazu Cultural Park explores the cultural roots of “one family on both sides of the strait”, and takes Mazu culture as a bridge to strengthen cross-strait cultural exchanges and enhance the cultural identity of people on both sides of the strait.
